If a guy doesn't need to have the latest and greatest, this is the absolute best time to buy a new Yamaha. The prices are lower than they've been in the past 5 years and if you buy a sled at the end of its production run, it will likely be the most trouble free and best rendition of that model.

Funny you mention that. What I am worried about is, if there is some type of merger with Cat such as, Yamaha supplies motors but Cat makes the chassis, is just that. Gone are the trouble free Yamahas. Not that Yamaha doesn't have troubles but my experience is they are alot less than what I have seen with the brand X's over my many years of riding. Maybe the leftover Yamahas might be the ones to have. If everything happens the way some of us are thinking, in no way would I buy a first year Yamaha/Cat merger sled. I would have to see how reliable they were first.

That is the exact reason I don,t buy new anymore. Usually, I buy a sled that is a couple of years old, had a chance to see it depreciate, and also see if the sled is a good one, or a dud.
Also, usually, they are studded, and all the small bugs that they did come with, have been worked out of them. But that is just me. I like to get value, and reliability, for my hard earned cash. My 07 Apex RTX ER has been great. LOL

I am not saying that I would buy a new "Yamacat" sled, but I would bet that it would be a good sled. If Arctic cat gave yamaha their chassis design then I highly doubt that Yamaha would let that sled go into production in the same way AC did. I would think that they would refine it so that it would be the sled that Arctic cat should have made to start off with and not just throw some parts together and be done with it.

that is also what I do. Buy a new left over sled or a used one that is 1-3 years old so that all the rebates can be applied and updated and maybe get lucky and still have some warranty left on the sled.

Dealer meetings start on the 19th of February so I would not be surprised that the showing would be on the 21st. I certainly have my fingers crossed.

Where did you hear that? I doubt it since its probably the least popular sled in the line up...

I f,n hope not, or the Yamaha sales will dip even further, if that is possible.
I cann,t imagine that tank weighting 500 lbs, and having 200 HP. LOL

APV.....Quebec snowmobile forum(not passionyamaha)stats one yamaha dealer saying all new chassis and also one new engine.End of dispatch.

The first "spy pics" are out on a supposed Ski Doo Ace 900, where are the Yammi spy pics ?

I just did a Google search, didn't find any pics but started reading a thread about an 800 ACE and a turbo charged ACE around 800-900cc 180 HP. I'm thinking, "Wow, that might be pretty cool, the 600 ACE is light." The somebody writes they can't wait to the 2012 line-up. I'm like WTF? Then I finally notice the thread is from 2011!

So funny how the rumors go on from year to year and they were posts in that thread from guys who claimed they knew someone important and had the inside scoop.

In any case, as we get closer to the Yamaha release (which I'm obviously interested in) I'm thinking that it's less and less likely Cat and Yamaha are working together on anything.

I think the pictures was from doo talk, but posted on a Swedish forum, "900 ace with 3 different performance modes (the green switch on 3rd picture): economic, regular and performance. It also has electronic trottle."

Whatever they come out with I hope they fix the freaking exhaust, frozen relay and cracked exup/titanium pipes. I am never jumping ship but I have to admit to losing some faith with my once thought "indestructible" sled. Do they not realize we use sleds in the cold? I'm really rooting for new one to really blow things out of proportion in a good way.
