Never knew that about Sno-jet always thought it was just Kawasaki engines. That didn't happen until later and Kawi basically liquidated the brand as the employees didn't want to move to the Nebraska factory, Lame.

In the mid 70's Kawasaki decided to jump in head first so they bought Sno-Jet for their chassis. Shortly before that they were supplying engines to Arctic Cat. At first they were Sno Jet by Kawasaki, then it was just Kawasaki. Their last year in the sled biz was 1982 when they took and buried all remains of the machines at their R&D center in Shakopee only a few miles from my house. Even the green factory race sleds you may see at a vintage show are only replicas. None exist anymore.

LFA is a Lexus motor they just simply collaborated with Yamaha acoustics to get the perfect exhaust note.

By Race sleds if you mean the Sharks, than yes they are all copies. There are a few TOC Invaders left though.

I think they'd be better off bringing back a name that wasn't so controversial in the past. I remember reading lots of bashing threads about the Viper and guys whining it was too stiff.

Vmax or SRX were a lot more successful. CR's post could be taken as a reference to the Viper but I doubt that was the intent. It appears his post was referencing a new way of doing business, i.e, working with Cat on new sleds.

Year of the snake is the Chinese name for the Chinese New Year that just started, this actually makes we think its less likely that a "snake named" sled would come out this year since the Japanese and Chinese really don't care for each other much.

I think its a new model at the 100hp level. New chassis, Cat front and rear susp. Exit rear exhaust is now gone... Looks like a Procross/?. This will be the start of their new lineup of sleds. Its may just be the reason why doo showed off the 900 ACE, so early. I believe that is why Viper34 made the comments he made...
