I just ordered / purchased a 2015 LTX DX I am hoping yamaha will take the 'year of experience' with percieved harsh LTX shock settings into account and 'dial in' the 2015. my goal is PLUSH. I know most of the complaints have been with the SE just wondering if anyone has heard anything.

I have a little seat time on the dx and it is a much plusher ride with the coil-overs then the floats.

For the softer ride I think you made the right choice.

I hope for the sake of future buyers that they redid some valving in the rear shocks..just got a call from monster performance saying my rear shock is all done. He said it was in terrible shape and physically unscrewing itself..3 more threads and it would have blown apart. Orings were shot and there was water and dirt inside the shock. It sounds really bad..realistically it's only costing me $100 to be completely rebuilt and valved to my specs..I can understand valving being slightly off but mine was very harsh..dirt and water in a shock after only 4 months of riding however is a different story..I think yamaha should hire a professional shock guy to set these things up. This is my only complaint about the sled and even with the harsh ride it was far better than my previous yamaha sleds. Now with the shock fixed up right I prolly won't ever get off the sled lol

So we agree there was a problem, at least with the FOX shocks.

Anyone know the planned or past year 2 calibration changes?

Thanks for the help NOSPRO. I decided either would work but LTX DX would be less issues.

I went to a sneak peak of the 2015 sleds last night and ran straight to the LTX SE's to see if they softened up the rear suspension....NO. Same rock solid feel as my 2014.

The rear suspension was nice on the 141 STX DX model. That would be my viper of choice if going with a 2015.

Same here, I went a few days ago and all the sleds were very stiff. I have about 100 miles on my newly revalved center shock..I had my spring set a bit too stiff but you could tell it felt much better. If I had the spring loosened up more it would have handled all the bumps good I feel. With it the way it was, it handled the bumps from 1 foot to 2 foot awesome! I stayed planted on the seat the entire time and could basically go wide open if I wanted to and never felt a thing staying siting down the whole time. I hardly ever ride hard on rough trails but the sled was handling so good that I was having a blast riding hard. Ian from monster performance redid the shock. When he got it he said the shock was physically unscrewing itself. 2 more turns and it would have blew right apart. He said there was no fluid left in it and a lot of dirt/water in there..I got a feeling these shocks are messed up right from day 1 because my sled rode exactly the same from the first day up until the shock blew. All is good now and $100 later the sled is handling great.

The Stx-dx has the uncoupled suspension, doesnt it? would that be plusher because of that reason, more weight transfer i presume

Yes. That is correct on both counts. I would advise going with a 141 with uncoupled rear suspension. XTX or STX. Nothing has changed on the LTX SE.
