2016 Models

Yamaha has all the motors they need already developed. All they need to do is step up and build a new competitive chassis. Problem is there is more profit buying chassis from cat then r&ding a new chassis. All about the bottom line. They don't care about the true blue Yamaha diehard. :o|

Yamaha is scheduled to release their 2016 line-up on Wed. 02/25/15 and they have been testing the 2016 models out west now for some time and they're saying that they feel the yamaha lovers are going to be very pleased so I guess time will tell.....I already sold my 2007 Apex with intensions of buying a new 2016, but if they don't have anything that truly excites me than I'll be buying a new left over 2014 or 2015 Apex and at least be able to enjoy the new x-up exhaust system and the power steering. That's 2 nice upgrades from my 2007, but I was hoping for more.........we'll know soon......

I was up in the U.P riding over the weekend and saw a ton of newer yamahas on the trails I was quit surprised!every sled I saw getting picked up on a trailer was Polaris..they need to get those groomers fixed ASAP!!was some rough trails

It's hard to keep the trails groomed when they are crap in about an hour or two. Just too many people there this year and until this past Wednesday they didn't even have any fresh snow for 2 weeks. The snow they got only went as far south as Bruce Crossing. If you stay around Ironwood.......well then you get what you get. That area always stinks, so many people just cross the border and settle where the snow belt starts and the trails are always beat.

I've learned over the years when riding in the U.P. that more snow certainly isn't always better but yet a sure way to get into rougher trail conditions.......I get into some of my best riding south of 28 and starting out of Saint Ignace where you may only have a 6 to 8 inch base but the trails are white and smooth most of the time. They get so rough around Munising that they now have T-shirts out that say I survived the Munising moguls on them.......I guess I better not give away all my secrets but I did get in 500 miles in 2 days on Jan. 30th and 31st the last time I was up there and my best trails where south of 28

I talked with someone that was up in Munising last week. He said right around Munising wasn't the best but Big Bay, Grand Maris,Seney, Marquette and Gwinn were good.

I believe it, typically for some reason it always gets rough around Munising and when I run west on 8 from Shinglton to trail 7 north and spent the night in Christmas the last 25 to 30 miles was misserable with 3' deep moguls and the sad part is when we hit trail 7 north to trail 8 east it hadn't been groomed yet and still had 3' deep moguls so their local club certainly has equipment down or something but when we got to the turn for 7 south it was great conditions from there all the way to 2 east and back to Saint Ignace.

I've had my best rides north and east of seney........ Never had luck south... Went to X-mas before and thought I was riding on the moon. Does anyone remember the "Hot dog guy" 11 miles north of Seney ????????????? MM.

I know that the Seney and Grand Marais trail system are some of the best well kept groomed trails in the U.P. and I too love to ride the crazy eights. I have a friend that owns a house in Grand Marais and we're riding out of there alot, he actually held his wedding ceromony at Jerry's Hot Dog stand. Jerry's health isn't doing to good so he couldn't get set up this year and I hope he gets better soon and maybe he'll be back next year and for many years to come. It's strange running down 443 north of 431 and not seeing Jerry and having some of his hot cider, we're praying for you Jerry and I hope to talk again soon.

We had some good times with him..............Just love riding all those loop trails.. 43/88/431 etc..I remember waiting in line at the Grand M. gas station.. MM.

The line is still there from time to time at the gas station in Grand Marais......he definately has a gold mine there.......I'll be back up there a couple of times yet this year, I usually make sure we get up there 4 or 5 times a year.

Ive given up on Yamaha I still own two and I am trying to sell an apex. I wont buy anything that has anything to do with artic cat because of build quality. I might buy a 900 ace doo and turbo it or maybe doo will come out with a high hp 4stroke. It would be a huge surprise if Yamaha came out with a new japan built sled. I cant believe that Yamaha doesn't have any engineers in the snowmobile division that don't know what everyone wants. Its easy to me build the same power to weight as the competitions 800 make it handle the bumps and corners and fun to ride and you have a winner. 90percent of people ride ski doo in my area (Tug Hill) and there is a good reason.

I don't really care what comes out as long as the Apex is still a true Yamaha! A catamaha Apex would just leave a foul taste in my mouth! I love the motor but not that much! By 2017 or 18 I will be thinking of a new sled old one will be approaching 20,000 miles and it will be time to sell the Warrior and let the XTX take its place as second sled. Its up to Yamaha if they want to sell me another flagship sled!
