16 don't have the update jack shaft or updated one way clutch for starter. But it has better rods and u can turbo it.

If you think you might turbo get the early one. If you know you won't turbo buy the one that's the best deal.
The jackshaft and bearing is going to be a hit miss thing on early 16's. Some had and some didnt. Either way it wouldnt be a factor to me. So far all 16's had better shock valving I have seen also. This one have QS3's? What model?

No turbo, but I would like to do an evo flash and some other upgrades. Something I have been afraid of doing to my 16.5 le that I have now

You won’t hurt it as long as you don’t boost it.
Or over rev it.

Seems all LTX-LE were built in the 16.5 flavor. Best to verify.

Old RELIABLE engine was why I bought mine. Only to find out they switched it up, and didnt say anything. Dealer it came from didnt even know of it till I told him. Thanks to T.Y.

How do you know what is a 16 or 16.5? I have a 16 RTX SE I just picked up in March and it says it was manufactured in May of 15. Is there a clear cutoff date between the 16's and 16.5's?
