2016

I see 2016 similar to 2005. 2005 came out with the mono shock than 2006 all new Apex. 2016 singleshot than 2017 new apex. I agree with yamajammer76. Yamaha has put $ into YAMAHA snowmobiles with new suspension and new technology this year. They wouldn't have done that if they're getting out of sleds and only producing motors. We were hoping for a new YAMAHA snowmobile for 2016 but we now know they haven't quit. I feel better about Yamaha snowmobiles after the 2016 reveal. I didn't have a good feeling after the 2015 reveal. Can't wait to see the reviews about the singleshot.

Anybody notice the Touring sleds? The Venture RS, the TF and TF LE. The TF's both have something called Yamaha Engine Management System.

YAMAHA ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

  • Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle provides optimal air mixture for throttle position. D-mode controls fuel flow to allow for 3-Mode drive selection. Sport, Touring, and Entry Modes.

Now is this a drive by wire system? No more cable would be a first for Yamaha.

And there is no middle GT version with a 144 track with EPS and FI. Just the base carbed RS and the TF's with 151 track. The difference between the TF and TF LE, which is available only until April 18th, is the damper at a $350 premium.

I am going to snow check a new apex. You guys that don't like the new yamahas should jump ship as soon as possible. It is no wonder yamaha doesn't bring new models to market after reading all these comments on here. Can't wait to ride my new apex next year. And going by all my buds pull the sling shot move.

Every year around this time there is nothing but complaining, "I'm jumping ship!!!!"

Fine, it's your money, go buy something else is the way I see it too.

What kills me is probably more so than not many of the whiners are not in the market for a brand new sled anyways. Also it's pretty easy to see if the person only has a couple of posts as a newbie that they are just here to stir the sh!t. I'd have to say Yamaha made enough changes throughout the line to warrant some positives. I sure didn't see anything earth shattering from the Yellow camp. If you look at the Doo forums their riders have been wanting a boosted 4 stroke too but it isn't happening, even more HP for their 1200.......not happening. I was actually surprised and thought Yamaha made several nice improvements IMHO.

Think about it, there is no way,no how any manufacturer can please every want and need for every snowmobiler........it's just not possible.

just came off my new to me 2013 apex xtx to get on the computer and read all this b.s,I have never enjoyed a sled like this apex, and everybody is saying its no good,i think the line up is solid with many improvements, yamaha is going in the right direction, way better than a few years ago where there was only 15 sleds in the line up,were lucky there are still sleds made in japan imo,the only thing I thought was weird is a redesigned vk,its ok ,but all these current apex whiners should of got new bodywork, just to make them happy
completely agree, after viewing the apex xtx w/new single shot skid go thru the bumps and twisties,I have began changing my mind, the float rear skid does have plenty oof adjustments, limiter front, shock has valving adjustments on the shock body, just trun in either direction, and it has coupling blocks like most skids do,the only thing I see as a possible determent would be the straight back, none tipped up rails, but the motor got different overlap timing valves, differant timing and different airbox boost tubes all geared for more top end, heck right now if I was to run a completely stock procross turbo I know I will keep up,and on bottom kick its #*$&@,how do I know,i had a 13 boosted, and it was still a Dog,and a POS.

Why didn,t they have the balls to tell everyone just how much HP and torque, increase they got ?
Probably, because it,s better to leave folks guessing. They needed to kick it up to 170 HP, or so, and brag about it.

Yamaha doesn't bring new models because people like you keep buying 10 year old technology.

Yamaha hasn't built a new sled since 2008 when the Nytro came out. The viper is just a Cat with blue panels. I road Yamaha for 15 years. I own a Yamaha jet boat. I've owned Yamaha quads. I currently ride a skidoo and I love it. If Yamaha came out with a replacement for the apex that was really sweet I'd jump back to Yamaha. I refuse to buy a cat with blue panals or a ten year old apex. The New skid doesn't make the apex new just like power steering and the exup didn't. Those are refinements not game changers.

Again I love Yamaha but I want a new Yamaha.

Really like the new Vecture XTX! Now I just have to get the wife to test drive a demo.

Well I'm now looking to buy a left over new Apex and take advantage of the savings in doing so. I figured I'll now just purchase an Apex again and enjoy the power steering and x-up exhaust which my 2007 didn't have and then hand this sled down to my son when and if Yamaha does something to excite me enough to buy yet another new one in the future.......the million dollar question is will that be 1, 2 or 5 years down the road.....lol......one thing is for sure I'm not giving up on Yamaha or their dependability and quality equipment so I'll continue to bleed blue......

X2 I totally agree with Jason!

Wow... between this and our states political BS, I'm turning off the interweb for a few days!
I'd like to see an all blue sled too, but the ones we have here in MY2016 are pretty nice machines packed with innovation. There is a reason they can stick with a platform or an engine for 10 years... because they are engineered right. My $.02
See you all in a few days. :)
