I love my short track until we hit the Black Hills. I am torn between buying a Xtx 141” or just throw a 1.6” track on my 129” I can usually spin my way up to the top but been stuck a few times. Always looking for deep snow to play in but only head west a couple times a year. Your thoughts please.

You can't have best of both worlds unfortunately, going out west with a 129 just will not work no matter what track you put on!weigh in on your options 4 days of mountain riding or 30 at home.

I could enjoy a 141 at home but I might miss my shock package.

if you dont have any tail landings you will be ok
Rent a mountain sled out west and keep your 129inch for trail riding. That will give you the best of both worlds and you wont have to trailer your sled all the way out west.

The way I ride dodging trees in the mountains I will end up owning a sled I rented.Rent a mountain sled out west and keep your 129inch for trail riding. That will give you the best of both worlds and you wont have to trailer your sled all the way out west.

what about a ltx with the 137? i mean you would get better flotation off trail but still be able to ride it hard on the trails. i had a 141 did a lot of trail riding with it is doable but definitely was a work out. just get a different track for the ltx with a bit more lug for when you want to go west... another option would be to get the uncoupled 141 but then get better shocks for it and put hygears link to to make it act like a coupled suspension for better trail performance

Had a 137 Viper. Not much transfer like my 129. I really like the ability to pull up the front at will. Not sure a 137 will do that. I thought Sidewinder had a 137 uncoupled in 18 or 19. May have to check that out.what about a ltx with the 137? i mean you would get better flotation off trail but still be able to ride it hard on the trails. i had a 141 did a lot of trail riding with it is doable but definitely was a work out. just get a different track for the ltx with a bit more lug for when you want to go west... another option would be to get the uncoupled 141 but then get better shocks for it and put hygears link to to make it act like a coupled suspension for better trail performance

I'd stick with the better shocks (night and day difference) of the 129. I think you'd be disappointed in the 141 setup if you left it stock.
