Have any of you guys been trail riding the lightweight front end. Specs show travel at 7" instead of the usual 10". I do mostly trail riding but i found a hella deal on a 17 with that new front end.... Should i stay away from it???? Thanks

Well it depends which version you’re talking about. The 40” version on the BTX and my ‘16 Viper MTX 141” has 9” of travel. The narrow 36” on the 153” and 162” have 7” of travel. I can say the sway bar equipped 40” version is just fine on the trails. The geometry on it is probably better suited for off trail, but it handles and rides just fine on the trails in my experience.

Yeah. It’s a 40-42” on the special order XTX 141 with the 2.25” track.

XTX LE and High Country front end are (hybrid) 38-42". They ride well in both applications. I traded my 2014 Viper 141 XTX (trail front end) for my 2018 141 High Country and its way better with that hybrid front trail off train. On trail I dont feel a difference but I did not compared back to back.

That helps me out, I was debating on just installing 40" arms on my XTX, or doing the full blown 16+ 40" mountain front. I was worried it might have too much caster angle for trail.
