I’m new to this site and see some familiar names from my turbo cat days. I had a 2012 Cat with 250 trail tune and 330 race tune. I won’t get into all the problems I had, almost to many to list.
What I’m wondering is, do I need do any modifications to the 2019 SRX for reliability. The sled will be aggressively ridden, 245 tune, heavily studded or chisels, 280# rider.
Thanks in advance.

Gonna run that against all the Tonka 850’s this year? Should be a bloodbath. Lol

I have tried to cover all the potential issues with these sleds, all in order from day 1 in my build thread, lots of pics and info. Page 1 of my thread has quick links easily laid out to jump you to any item in the thread.

Somebody had to be different. We’re hoping SRX does well for Team Tonka.

IMHO gear down to cats or the ltx gearing or at least do not gear up....obviously change out clutching to match your factors...add a fourth wheel kit...

I think the SRX has the 4th wheel kit and the new clutch parts (Springs and helix are different) dont know how well they work yet.
1. Belly pan protector for blowing belts
2. New slides the Dupont ones are good, stock wears out in 500 miles
3. New windshield the stock one looks good but is useless
4. Either the Snow trackers or a different set of skis. The stock ones are dangerous
5. Ice Scratchers because these things seem to overheat if you stop for more than a minute and minimal snow conditions

My sliders look brand new still, 1450 miles season one. Never seen a sled with such great slide life.

Damn you must have the best one. All three of the Winders in our group had to have them at the 500 mile service. We all replaced with the Duppont

Weird unless you are off trail riders or have only ridden in perfect snow conditions. I try to avoid low snow, but icy and needing ice scratchers is common here

Put almost 2000 miles on my 18 last year and sliders showed next to no wear at all. I've never had a machine that I had to put ice scratchers on, nor do I want to.
