Looking at purchasing a Sidewinder, need opinions and advice!

I think I'm in love with my new winder and only have a few miles on it so far, i had 06 gt with m-20 air that was great then an 11 xtx with 180 hp hirricane kit that i really liked but missed that m-20 ride, now 19 ltx se that I've already done a bunch to, gunna get a few hundred miles on it then put my hurricane tunes on if i can wait that long lol, i find it easy to work on, already had it torn most of the way down and back together, luv the way it works even in a ft of wet snow with no base.

I currently ride an 06 Apex GT studded with a clutch kit, I have been looking to upgrade to something easier to stand on for a tall guy and while I love the Apex, it’s starting to get boring. I’ve ridden a few vipers and liked them except for the lack of power and smooth acceleration as compared to an Apex. I’m currently looking at a 2019 SW SRX and a 2018 SW L-TX SE. I’m leaning towards the L-TX because of price, I’m a mostly trail rider and like to line up on the lakes from time to time. Is this sled worth it? What are some issues with them? I’ve been reading a lot about belts blowing, is that still a problem? Will I be happy with the sled in stock form? Thanks in advance for the input!

Is the sled worth it?

Eff yes. It can be a crotch rocket in the twisties or a cruiser in the long and straights.

Issues?

That belt dust sure is a bitch to clean! But no one in my small circle of SW owners has blown one. I'm sure I will on the first trip of the season now since I said something. I have a back-up now that I will be sure to leave in the truck so i'm 100 miles from it when I need it too.

Will you be happy with the sled in stock form?

Absolutely. I have an L-TX, in stock form other than removed the graphics, added some underglow and other simple accessories not performance related, broke it in like I break in any motor mixed with Yamaha's recommendations, changed the oil at 300 or 500 miles (whatever the manual says I can't remember), regular maintenance thereafter, and have seen 114mph on the speedo, get about 10mpg's, and have loved this thing like a child since i bought it.

If you can get one, DO IT.

I finally give in and bought one,got tired of waiting for Yamaha to build one
