Do we know if the new front end would bolt up to our 2019 and older Winders if we got the new 2020 A-Arms, steering arms (if different) and spindles? Did they modify the mounting or just thr components?

My Guess....YES. I doubt the mounting points to frame are diff for 2020.Do we know if the new front end would bolt up to our 2019 and older Winders if we got the new 2020 A-Arms, steering arms (if different) and spindles? Did they modify the mounting or just thr components?
Likely would need Upper A arms, Spindles, Upper Ball Joints at very least. I believe the lower A arm is same, but not sure it would bolt up to new spindle. Would have to experiment.
One thing of note....It would be a shame if they did not tweak where the lower A arm connects to the drop link to the sway bar. As most all of us have sway bars that rub against the lower side belly pans. It sure seems like this would have been the right time to fix this issue. But to me the lower A arm looks unchanged.
Running a taller front end, Im guessing the A arms will tend to look more level or parallel to the ground when set up vs how an older model looks. So it does make me wonder how level the A arms will look on the lowered SRX model.

Really want a new sled but being in a 0% situation is hard to give up and losing 6k while trading it in + the 2k in mods that I couldn't remove really makes it a terrible deal when looking to get a new sled.

All I see when looking at those skidoo’s
I call mine Snidely Whiplash! I actually like it. I liked my Winder also. I haven't had to use any tools on this one though.

I hear ya....Im in same boat. It will cost me a fair chunk to build a new 2020 exact same as mine, even if I sell it for a decent price. Hard to recoup mod costs. And the 129 not avail, and colors that are not really getting me too excited, sure leads me to want to keep mine longer. 5 yr warranty with 3.5 remaining too.Maybe someone with a 2020 will let me get measurements, would be a cool upgrade to my 17.

These damn things are pricey no doubt. Im hoping Cat's approach to pricing will make the other manufacturers take note and offer better spring order pricing, sled MSRP has gotten way out of control. Became a rich mans sport very fast, and I aint no rich man!

I spent alot of time at the show Saturday.....looking around the entire area, at all sleds. I came to the conclusion the Poo and Doo look very angular w/sharp edges and a very utilitarian look. The G4 design just has been really 'Un-Sexy' since day one IMO. I realize looks are purely subjective and in the eye of the beholder, but when you scan the show of all brands, and scan from POO/DOO side over to the Cat and Yam side, WOW....Huge difference. The Procross design has always been sleek and super sexy looking. So when it comes to looks alone, the YAM and Cats are quite stunning.
I still wish I had another 4s alternative to try....but the 900t is just a HUGE disappointed for all us DOO lovers who want/need 4s power. The iTC as you know is a huge point of contention for so many people, and its only the current owners who say they got used to it and are OK with it. BRP will never cure the actual problem of a long intake track, I measured the display 900t engine at the show, you can see the cutout of the intake and how far the Throttle body is away from the Piston. This distance is near 12 inches! Yes I said a foot! How anyone at rotax could think this design would offer good throttle response is beyond me, and iTC cannot mask that problem. Very sad for us 4s lovers.
I would own a Viper WAY WAY WAY before id buy a skidoo 4s with horrible throttle response. And that sucks, cause the DOO g4 albeit not sexy, does alot of things really well! At 50 lbs lighter then the Winder, a new ECU map, lots more power and new Winder style plastics, NO rear heat exchangers means NO ICE, and INSTANT true yamaha throttle response since its NA, Non decompressed. Corner to corner a true 4s blast as they should be. If Yam tweaked the Viper up to 150hp they would take ALL the 900t crowd by storm IMO.

Yes, I've often wondered why they didn't up the Viper engine another 50-100cc's, be it bore or stroke. The 15% tariff slapped on this engine would still be 15% even at 1150cc's and that would put it at 155ish hp. The common complaint I've heard over the years from Viper owners is that it was just a *little* shy on top power.I spent alot of time at the show Saturday.....looking around the entire area, at all sleds. The Viper has fallen into no-man's land with 700 2 stroke power, a class that doesn't exist anymore.

Agree this is the problem, I will be interested to see how the new ECU mapping does. Maybe a few more MPH top end which will help. I think for an area like mine it would be a nice corner to corner sled still. Snappy too.Yes, I've often wondered why they didn't up the Viper engine another 50-100cc's, be it bore or stroke. Hard to say, depends what shock package you have, as they dont offer Qs3rs anymore at all.Dan- 2020 Viper sounds pretty sweet. Debating if it's worth trading up from my 2017??
But the new front end, new ECU mapping, new Plastics, and LED light(GT only) might be well worth it. One thing about trading up every couple seasons is you dont need such a huge chunk of change, and taxes are kept in check. But in the end this sport has really gotten crazy with prices IMO.

My first year with my Viper has made me thinking the same thing. That's really the only thing that disappoints me on the trail. Depending on where you ride, the extra at the top is nice. On the ice as well. But to me, the motor is still amazing.

Dan you have your Winder just the way you want it. You have it performing as good as it gets and you have addressed most of the engineering short comings to make it reliable. Also I believe you still have three years left in warranty correct? I think the smart thing to do is keep what you have and enjoy it for a change rather than working on it.

Yeah while waiting for the rain to stop in Timmins on Friday morning we went to the POO/Yam dealer and I priced out a 2020 Indy XCR 850, 19,950CDN out the door, spendy!
I paid 14,999CDN for my 2017 in October 2018, which was about 17k out the door. Little did I know I would spend MANY MANY thousands on mods both performance and preventative. The dealer told me I could get maybe 9k on a trade so when you factor in the taxes saved it's about 10.2k which puts me upside down a lot. I'm good with losing maybe 4k a season on a sled but 6-7k is a bit much. Now I'm sure I could sell it privately for 12-13ish with all the mods which is more palatable.
IF I don't sell I'll be getting QS3R's, new track, go through the chaincase, bearings, etc. etc. etc. which will make things even worse after next season when I want to sell then.
Anything new I get will have 4+ years warranty which would be nice, mine only had 1 year.

3+ years of warranty is for sure a selling point. So far on my 17' with 9200kms it has not needed any warranty work except for the secondary rollers. Oil tank seapage I guess could have been a warranty item but I don't trust anyone.
