2020 Sidewinder or Tcat?

Yeah while waiting for the rain to stop in Timmins on Friday morning we went to the POO/Yam dealer and I priced out a 2020 Indy XCR 850, 19,950CDN out the door, spendy!

I paid 14,999CDN for my 2017 in October 2018, which was about 17k out the door. Little did I know I would spend MANY MANY thousands on mods both performance and preventative. The dealer told me I could get maybe 9k on a trade so when you factor in the taxes saved it's about 10.2k which puts me upside down a lot. I'm good with losing maybe 4k a season on a sled but 6-7k is a bit much. Now I'm sure I could sell it privately for 12-13ish with all the mods which is more palatable.

IF I don't sell I'll be getting QS3R's, new track, go through the chaincase, bearings, etc. etc. etc. which will make things even worse after next season when I want to sell then.

Anything new I get will have 4+ years warranty which would be nice, mine only had 1 year.
With all your mods your cost is much higher than 17 k out the door. You will take a beating if you trade or sell and someone is getting an awesome sled cheap. Man I would just keep it and enjoy the heck out of it for a few years.

3+ years of warranty is for sure a selling point. So far on my 17' with 9200kms it has not needed any warranty work except for the secondary rollers. Oil tank seapage I guess could have been a warranty item but I don't trust anyone.

That's kinda where I'm at too, if I did have a warranty issue I would likely not want the dealer to work on it anyways lol however I would like to have parts replaced. I wish they offered a "Parts Only" extended warranty option.

No doubt, without even thinking too hard I spent 4k+ easy (Multi map tune, dash flash, exhaust, 4th wheel kit, intake, 3 bar, BOV, full clutch kit rollers springs helix, C&A Skis, Studs, Mid height windshield). Financially I'm thinking I should keep it, lol but then I'm looking at spending 2-3k for shocks, $800 for new track, chaincase/driveshaft mods will be another 3-500 I'm sure. Is it worth spending even more and put myself in a worst spot or should I just cut my losses? For me I would be going to a 2 Stroke where at most the mods I would do is a clutch kit.

I just can’t get past those gold spindles ! I really liked the SE in 17. And the shocks really are not all that bad. No really I like the idea of the T cat with the manual shocks at that price but those gold spindles! WTF were they thinking really. Wonder how hard they would be to just take in and have them repainted a different color? Like green! Maybe Clutchmaster would have a lead on a good green color?
Yea that gold is ugly as hell,if the sled had the old vmax theme with the gold graphics..

Switch with someone that has a 2 stroke.. they feel like you are driving a 4 cylinder civic...after having a sidewinder with boost

I wish I had someone to trade with, like go on a ride and swap sleds for a bit. I would love to do that I just don't know anyone with an 850.

I rode the skidoo 850 the following week after riding the 2019 SRX...... mehhh. Did not find the 850 as exciting as the SRX and the 850 was NOT as smooth as the SRX. The guy who bought it and another friend raved about being able to lift the skis well into the mid band. I liked the seat on the skidoo. But riding the 850 did not produce the same aaha moment I had when I rode the SRX.

Long story short I prefer the SRX.

There is also the 4 strokes are so heavy...... yea When you get any sled buried and stuck it sucks getting it out. A couple pounds does not matter. I have dug 2s and 4s out before. Your going to sweat and suck wind either way.

When going fast in the twisty trails, steering this beast is not easy. Had some good arm pump going yesterday lol but otherwise when hitting the throttle it's so good.

Just cruising at 70mph hit the throttle and boom 90+mph and it doesn't really feel like your going fast. It's so smooth and tame that it kinda feels boring lol
