2020 Viper - new airbox and intake!

If you look close, the opening to the left of airbox is similar to the SW. there is no snorkel that goes to airbox. Look close

Any idea if the Cat 7000 are the same from 2019? ?

7000s are gone! Only 4 stroker in Cats lineup is the Thundercat.

Yes , that I know. I believe the ZR7000 built in 2019 had the same hood as the New Viper. So I was asking if they think the Cat was updated with the new air box first . 2019 cat's can be bought cheap!

Yamaha Canada is saying 125 hp class,

The new SRViper, bristling with updated features, raises the bar for trail comfort and handling in the 125HP class. New Gen2 body work has sleek aerodynamic lines offering fresh styling cues and improvements in air flow to intake. Special new ECU mapping extracts even more peak power and response out of the proven-dependable Yamaha 1049cc engine.

You would think they would of put up the new hp numbers if the power got increased.

To answer some of the questions, I bought a pair of 2019 ZR 7000's last month and took the whole thing apart, even the airbox and its very similar to my 2014 viper airbox. The intake port is still on the bottom and still draws air in from the same location as previous years. There is no longer frogskin in the front to allow cool air to enter in through the bulk head area. They have the newer plastics like the 2020 vipers and they have the 2 vents on either side of the radiator for under hood cooling similar to my sidewinders. Maybe they help create underhood pressure for the intake but there is no forced air type setup in there that allows cold clean air to have a positive pressure directly into the intake track. Alot of speculations out there but unfortunately its still the same intake design as previous years. I also hear rumors the 2020 vipers are receiving the same ecu program the 19 cats got last year but I'm still waiting for conformation on that. I'm glad I got the ZR's as i paid 10,500 each instead of 14,500 for the viper and they have everything the viper GT will come with other than the newer arms and spindles which haven't been proven to work better yet.
