Might be a Skidoo in my future. When you can be so far off on delivery when its close I am sure someone else would like my money. I would stay with the dealer but Yamaha I will be done with.
Well good luck with that Doo. My buddy just called and the good news is his Mach is in, the bad news is its missing the ECU with no idea on when the ECU may be coming. Dealer told him sleds that have been in for a month are still waiting on ECU's as well. Could be Jan, could be Feb.

Yes, there is something basically wrong with it...why can't manufacturing take place in North America? If nothing else this years delivery delays have educated a lot of people how many parts on ALL the manufacturers sleds come from China...it doesn't matter weather its YamaCats, Doos, or Polaris...everything is delayed waiting for parts from South East Asia.

Because North Americans make too high of wages, in comparison to other countries. With all of the rules the companies have to follow here, products can get very expensive. China is extremely efficient at getting around these details and producing a much cheaper part and still making money at it.Yes, there is something basically wrong with it...why can't manufacturing take place in North America?

I've been to China a few times...it's a toxic waste dump...sky where ever I went was sulphur yellow. They will do anything for a penny never mind a buck.it's about producing cheap so we don't. I think the parts that have been manufactured are sitting on container ships waiting to be unloaded/distributed.Because North Americans make too high of wages, in comparison to other countries. It's resources. North America has it's own third world country they can use to build this stuff for pennies on the dollar. But the materials still have to come from china.Because North Americans make too high of wages, in comparison to other countries. With all of the rules the companies have to follow here, products can get very expensive. China is extremely efficient at getting around these details and producing a much cheaper part and still making money at it.

Very sad, a lot of the parts and even engine blocks now for Yamaha are being manufactured in china for pennies, very low quality control, china are masters at coping everything, customers in the US and Canada are paying huge amounts of money for powersport products that are now of a low quality product and marketed as premium products, to many dam bean counters now, we have some dam good engineers in the US and Canada but you see how Yamaha has shut down their R&D in the US basically let the Engineers go, very sad, I see Cat has made a shift in management again, they have a new high profile bean counter Women running the sled operation now, she probably never rode a sled in her life.If nothing else this years delivery delays have educated a lot of people how many parts on ALL the manufacturers sleds come from China...it doesn't matter weather its YamaCats, Doos, or Polaris...everything is delayed waiting for parts from South East Asia.
