Anyone read any release dates yet ?
Just wondering when I find out if I have to buy a new sled next year .. lol

I have read a few times Doo 17th, Cat 18th, and POO 1st. If that is true I would imagine YAM will be within a few days of Cat. Very interested in what CAT is doing, mostly cause its their 60th anny, and 10 yrs since procross was released. My guess is Cat needs to bring out their new chassie, and my guess is it will be 2s only, much like their current race sled chassie with a 862cc 2 smoker. If that happens, I dont see anything new for their Tcat, which means small changes like BNG for the 4s sleds, including YAM. But hey, ya never know.

I think the Mach Z pics floating around along with other DOO pics, are all photoshopped...most of them you can see the 3 outer idlers photoshopped off the Enduro. I would think DOO needs to bring out some changes to counter the very popular Matryx. And we all know the 4s crowd at DOO never gets much love. But it would be cool to see the MACH make a comeback, IMO it would need to be in the Winder HP range to wear the badge Mach Z(large turbo and maybe 999cc?) Even if it comes with a claimed 180hp(closer to 200 on dyno) like the Winder, It may only be similar stock for stock. Once tuned we all know the 998 has alot more easy power to be added. But stock for stock its possible, just not probable.....because BRP needs to counter the Matryx as there are many DOO guys liking the new POO.

The biggest problem i see with a new sidewinder, is production of sleds ( motors for Yamaha ) during covid . If they come out with just new body mouldings like the VR1 with very little changes in actual suspension & motor and call it new they will sell a pile of sleds , but can they produce them ?
But i see these next couple of years during covid , a golden opportunity for Yamaha to sell a pile of sleds with a new chassis because here in Canada people have extra money right now to buy toys and guessing the USA is the same ?

Question for everyone.....why do you think we need a new chassis? The one we have is very good, it's been refined and improved over the 9 years and works well especially with the new ARC front end. I would be happy if they would fix the existing issues such as the clutch rattle, replace the chain case with a conventional Yammie type and put the brake back on that side. Relocate the oil tank perhaps like doo but in the front under the carbs and last put a normal bearing with a locking collar on the drive shaft.

When you look at the Matryx it has the same chassis/suspension as the Axis with basically a change in plastics and they call it new. Same as Doo between the XS /XM. And a lot of people arent crazy about the Gen 4 look and asking when the Gen 5 is coming.

Is that what you want.....new plastics?

Just my opinion here.

Cat/Yamaha need to give current owners incentive to trade up. I see no reason to trade in my 2,500 mile Sidewinder for the exact same sled.

Polaris needs a 4 stroke.

Doo needs a new front suspension. They are behind Polaris and Cat in that aspect.

I agree, the Procross is an awesome chassis. I have 3 different variants including a ZR4000, ZR6000, and a ZR9000 RR (my favorite). as well an an 2020 Indy XCR. Aside from the power of the turbo 9, it rides better and out handles the Indy. My wife likes the 6000 because it turns so easily, and it rides great on mediocre shocks.

But a whole new chaincase and some sort of low friction driveshaft is in order. Surprised no OEM has innovated the power robbing drive on this sled or others for that matter. I do feel the Procross is the worst chassis in the power robing category, but have no hard evidence other than it is slower on top than every other like powered sled despite clutch changes/improvements by Cat or aftermarket.

Dan, I rode a Matryx 650 129 in tight trails for a while on Saturday and was very impressed. The 650 felt like a 800. Pulled real nice. Sled handled flat and would go wherever my 230lb 57 year old #*$&@ would point it. I felt like I was in my 20’s again. These tight trails turn into wide straighter trails where the Winder would shine. The 650 suddenly felt very slow compared to the acceleration of my MS 16 tuned Winder and the fun was gone. Handling is a non issue for the Winder on bigger trails. The trail eventually opens into the 31 mile frozen lake I live on . The 650 Matryx now felt like a slow turd. In conclusion I am buying a 650 for my wife. Since she doesn’t ride as much as me I will be using her sled for the tight trail days. Winder for everything else. Hopefully the Winder will have a few updates in the coming years to keep it fresh. No reason to get rid of my 17 yet.

Nice to here from you again Jaret. I would have thought you would have had more VLOG'S for us through out the winter. The last one that I seen is when you put a few accessories on the SRX.

It has been a tough go with COVID lockdowns, we really wanted to get out more VLOGS this year. Hopefully as numbers improve, and lockdowns calm we can get more filmed late season.

We launched the Transporter Lite video recently:

I hear ya.....I am aiming to own 2 sleds going forward. One for the big Qc trails and one for my local area where the 2s works well. I am keeping open mind to see what comes out over the next couple of weeks, and am considering the Matryx too. Really hope YAM/CAT has some updates, even if small. I'm worried Cat may be done with their Snowmageddon as they typically announced that pricing very early on. Otherwise the Tcat will likely be priced similar to the Winder, with the only price advantage being the manual Qs3 option. I really wish YAM would offer the manual shock option on the LE/SRX.

Cool Video Jaret keep them coming. There is no way this guy is gonna drop a bunch of money on another snowmachine that I might not be able to ride, one's enough. I have no problem in the tight and twistys with my Winder. Once set up properly they are a great trail machine. Maybe when I get older I'll change my mind but as of right now bring on your 2 jokes I'll be happy to show ya my tail light.

I have a 2018 RTX SE with MS16. All our trails are twisty. I have been seriously considering a Matryx instead. I guess I need to try one out.

I'm really digging MS16 so far.
