Yamaha did offer different models than Cat last year. The only Cat sled that had the Yamaha engine in it in it was the Thundercat.Yamaha will offer whatever Cat comes up with only in a different colour.....so sad Yami
S-TX ==2up turbo, X-TX series and the LTX series where not available in Cat's line up. nor was the 3 cylinder non turbo engine--only Yamaha sleds
I know, I know, the chassis where the same and the turbo motors were the same, but the features were different.
The mountain side was identical, i think.
Hey, it's something, right? Maybe?

It's going to be interesting to see what we end up with for 2023.
I've read rumors of an expanded 998 lineup on the cat side for 2023. We shall see!

I have heard the same. Riot 998 turbo and the return of the Pantera.I've read rumors of an expanded 998 lineup on the cat side for 2023. We shall see!
I am leaning towards cancelling my LTX at this point, keeping the ZR8000 and maybe getting an S-TX or Pantera for the Canadian trips and saddlebag rides.
Such a weird partnership. Skidoo sues Cat, and ends up with Cat building their kids sleds. Seems like we saw the trading of technology in the past to get out of lawsuits ( push button reverse, among other things), but a whole private label sled line is a bit extreme.

Maybe the ’23 Yamaha sleds will be at Cabelas/Bass Pro and be sold next to the Cat four wheelers in the store?
Yamaha has nothing new for ‘23. Neither they or Cat have even dropped a hint of anything new. Textron/Cat is now just a soulless manufacturer of catalog sleds for whatever company wants to slap their stickers on a snowmobile. The Chinese do this with bicycle frames and their junk power sports vehicles. That’s the sales model Textron/Cat is following.
I don’t see how Textron Cat or the Yamaha sled division can survive? The innovation coming out of Doo and Polaris is amazing and then there is same old, same old, each and every year from Cat/Textron. Yamaha doesn‘t even have the ability to build their own sleds anymore. They are tied to a sinking ship that on its way to drag them under.

Yamaha could care less about sleds. No money in it, its a dying sport with poor conditions getting poorer yearly. They are just riding it out.
Money in things that sell in volume. Bikes, ATVs, SxSs, outboards and watercraft. Notice a trend here??? you can ride these more than 8 weeks a year.

Well how about Yamaha just develop a sled. I don’t care when an anniversary date was. They quit over 15 years ago with sled development with every excuse in the book as to why. Yet Skidoo, Polaris, now Lynx all keep pushing the sport forward with new developments. Yamaha engines yes. Sleds no and have been dead for almost two decades.I don't why people, on all forums, think that sled manufactures do anything special for anniversaries besides stickers. Has anyone ever done anything???
Cat did release a new chassis for the 50th but that's all I can think of....

Skidoo Polaris and lynx are all proving you wrong. It’s just an excuse when you say there is no money in it or it’s a dying sport. Meanwhile the others keep innovating with MSRPs approach g $24000.Yamaha could care less about sleds. No money in it, its a dying sport with poor conditions getting poorer yearly. It's like pre paying for warranty claims. Like an engine every year for the length of the warranty.

Sorry: But I moved to Brrmedji, MN And 2 weekends ago. The snow was up to my knees. In my yard. I was stupid. And went out to the Lean to. On my Wife’s sled to collect Firewood. I never should have stopped. I should have kept going. I ended up getting stuck. With SLP Mohawks. And a 146 inch. Track. So I got to live Highway through Hell. With a Warn cordless winch. Some trees a snatch block. And a lot of torque. Once I got it turned around. I got to surf it back to the house. So I guess I am one of the lucky ones. My biggest problem. Not Yamaha, Mother Nature, & The Sleds fault. Is I am too busy. With work to enjoy! The excellent conditions this year!Yamaha could care less about sleds. No money in it, its a dying sport with poor conditions getting poorer yearly. They are just riding it out.

Sure I’d love to see a bunch of updates and things but let’s be honest with eachother, what has skidoo and Polaris “innovated” that makes them so far ahead of this “outdated” chassis everyone wants replaced. I promise you it’s all minor stuff but you’re making it sound like yamaha has an old 78 exciter with leaf springs on front of it. And if you’re referring to the $2000 tablet for a gauge that skidoo has that won’t work unless your phone is hooked to it and there is cell service I’d say look at ns1 or copitrail and you’ll have more for less and still have a better front end with a better motor. Do you want a 10% better rear suspension and innovation for a 30% increase in prices with an tablet for a dash all for the low cost of $26000? I honestly would have been content with every manufacture sitting for a cpl years till things settled.Maybe the ’23 Yamaha sleds will be at Cabelas/Bass Pro and be sold next to the Cat four wheelers in the store?

That said. Sure I would love to see a new. Bulkhead design moving motor back, lower if they could do both, and rider little bit more forward and higher with updated plastics but nothing crazy.
That said since sidewinder was introduced (2017) the things changed, the new front end works great, the revisions to rear suspension were minor and impressive, the new ski isn’t amazing but a great factory ski that works for most. New handlebar controls are really nice and streamlined an push button start is nice. The iqs shocks are a nice package, sure it would be nice if center shock was part of it but even your $2500 up charge skidoo smart shocks dont adjust center shock.
