After the 2016 release I've had some thoughts about 2017:
Pros for new 2017 Apex:
-Seems like a similar setup to the RX1 to Apex evolution
-Guaranteed blockbuster 2017 sales, but then they can use the 2018 50th anniversary edition to sell more.....since everyone and their brother will buy a 2017. Need something to get more sales and keep the ball rolling. Make sense?
Cons: only one
Not sure how this whole Artic Cat agreement will change their usually product evolution pattern.
People seem to think they'll come out with a new 50th anniversary Apex in 2018. If they throw a new apex plus a 50th anniversary special in the same year.....who would want a 2019 BNG? They've thrown everything on the table for one year, guaranteeing a stagnant 2019.
Thoughts?

My thoughts are you are over thinking new Apex if it happens it happens probably 18 at the end of the 5 year OEM Agreement with Cat.
Good grief. Lets get thru 2015 first!

We are in 2016s now.Good grief. Lets get thru 2015 first!
Last I checked the calendar still showed 2015. I know of no one riding a 2016 as of yet. All the talk and speculation of 2016 is sickening already never mind looking to the future for 2017.We are in 2016s now.
Its nice to look ahead once in a while but we do have to live in the present.

And you spend two years building the ultimate Apex in your head...then it doesn't happen and we spend a month reading about how everyone is jumping to SD and how Yamaha is getting out of sleds. But it's nice to dream lol.

Sorry to get too far ahead. Personally, I like the changes for 2016. That being said I'm holding out for a few more changes before I take the leap. It's a lot of $$$$ to spend and I want to keep it awhile without being tempted by something big coming the next year.

I thought we were living in the present & wanting to know how the new 16s handle with the new single shot skid? No use discussing what we already know about 15s unless tech questions come up.Last I checked the calendar still showed 2015. I know of no one riding a 2016 as of yet. Yamaha is working on something IMO. I really thought they were moving in the direction of all Cat chassis. However, Cat coming out with a 70HP 4 stroke has me rethinking that. IMO the Phazer motor would have been a prime candidate for that.
I really think Yamaha is working on a chassis that can fit all there motors in one machine. Phazer, Nytro, and Apex motor all in the same chassis. I think it would cut down production costs a fair amount.

Did you like the 1200? I've been thinking about buying one or an Apex XTX. I will buy used though. I've heard nothing but greatness about the 1200 Renegade.

Take a look at the 700 Wildcat Trail. Thats the motor Cat used. Kymco.
