Looks like they keep the 998 Yamaha turbo in the same ProCross chassis with IQS electric on the fly shocks, one model in the 137" slide action and the 146" track with a tipped rail Cross Action or whatever they call it suspension, both get the new G8 gauge for those clamoring and screaming for an updated gauge, and all come with the EPS. Tipped rail on the 146" would be the ticket vs the older straight rail of those that want that long track for on-trail handling.

Too bad though, it looks like the RR is gone with its better QS3R shocks. At least you can still get the 998 in two Thundercat models and a Pantera 9000 two up model.

I think the RR was gone last year as well.

The Bearcat in blue and brown. That's a really nice blue. If the entire machine was blue along with the triple turbo engine, I'd be all over a machine like that.

Going to be spring checking a 137 Thundercat because it still has the heart of Yamaha. I'm on my second Sidewinder right now but it's the STX two up and the wife doesn't ride with me anymore. Does the cat clutches hold up or should I swap it out when sled comes in? I know all the other fixes to make it bullit proof.

That's my biggest gripe, the Cat's primary hasn't been holding up on the tuned sleds from what I have seen. I even saw a guy a week ago post that his secondary exploded. Makes you wonder if they switched to a different foundry that casts them? That Tapp primary looks like a work of art, but they aren't cheap. The new PB80 is definitely more price friendly. I do like the looks of both the 2027 Thundercat colors and graphics, myself I'd probably lean on the black/red just because I'm a long time Yamaha rider.

I see for spring check only you can get a white out color option but reading it through, which is sort of vague, my assumption is that it’s only for the new chassis?

UPDATE: upon further research, it is only on the catalyst machines. It would have been interesting to see one for the TCat. Like Kinger's old Apex.

I'm building 5 custom 998 turbos for 2027. 320+ hp fully optioned, give me a call if it interests anyone 605-387-2833 and no, they won't be cheap.

That clutch has been updated to a steel spider all across the board it seems.

I wonder if you can install that tipped rail into the current Riot/XTX models? It seems like a simple rail swap and 2 wheels. Will have to check the prices once the new parts diagrams come out.

It sucks they got rid of the mountain seat for 2027. That seat should be standard on all Procross sleds.

So is 2027 the last year of the 998 or is all over in 28?

2027 is the last year in the current agreement.

I don't think I can remember a muscle sled that has been the king of the lake for this many years. Yamaha was right when this was released, "it's going to take a long time for the competition to beat this one". I am starting to think no one ever will, it will probably just go away.

Unfortunately probably like the 2 stroke triples

True, I guess the old Thundercat triple triple had a long run too. This sled may be a hair longer. Talking bone stock.
