25 XTX LE 146

I just bought a Riot 9000. How are you liking that 1.6 Cobra? That is my biggest concern right now, the durability and performance of that track....

How much are you finding this sled for right now? I want one pretty bad mainly because next year it isnt an option.

this sled is 8 hours away from me, I went with a Riot that was 2.5 hours away.......

I’m not a fan of this track. It’s soft in my opinion and folds over easily. Braking leaves a lot to be desired. I plan to replace it, maybe this summer.

The dealer I bought mine from has another one. It was on their showroom floor but they tucked it in the warehouse and also bought a bunch other Yamahas from other dealers so they still have something to offer next season. Rich’s Yamaha in Lockport Illinois is where I got mine.

My next trip up was on Valentine’s Day. We were finally able to ride from the house in northern Wisconsin. First time in two years. I decided to throw on my charge pipes before we rode.

I have the Hurricane charge pipes on my 18 XTX so I decided to go Precision on these. No other reason than to have my own experience with the products. I also installed constant tension clamps instead of the weak factory ones. Also changed the BOV with a turbosmart unit.

I also installed a piece of marine foam pad under the fuse box to prevent chafing of the wires.
I also replaced the white riser with the black factory one off my 18 because I thought it stood out like a turd in a punch bowl.

The white riser was better suited on the 14 SRViper.

The next order of business was to get some airflow into the intercooler. These things pack up too easy with ice just from the snow dust coming off the sled in front of you.

I bought Travis’ “no ice” intercooler guard. At first I thought it didn’t fit. I couldn’t see how it went in behind the front factory grill.

Travis seen my Facebook post about it and texted me to set me straight. That front plastic piece has to be left out when installing the guard. My 18 has the guard too but that tuning fork emblem is part of the hood ao I didn’t think I’d have to lose that. But I’m ok with it.
I also want to note that I installed the screen backwards. Travis sent me another text to tell me that the frogskin should be on the outside so no snow or ice can build up in the corners.

We had some good riding in Wisconsin. Some thin spots but mostly was great to be riding in our own neck of the woods again.

Call and ask for Misty. She’s the one to talk to. She went above and beyond for me. I’ll explain in my next post.

I’m curious, did you feel any change in rideability, responsiveness with the Precision EFI charge tubes installed?
