4 stroke

I am riding a 2002 Arctic Cat Z570. My next sled will be a four stroke. I am not a aggressive trail rider. We do about 35-55 most of the time. Would a Phaser be enough sled. The only thing that bothers me is the narrow seat. It does not look too comfortable for long trips. I am looking at a Yamaha Apex Gt, Yamaha Rage, Yamaha RX1. Thanks Art

I haven't rode a Phazer yet, but from what I have read on here the Phazer does best from 0-60 mph so it might be a good fit.

The Phazer sled would probably not be a good choice for you. Not that the motor isn't strong or anything, but the sled itself. The Phazer is actually intended to be a ditch banger sled, not an entry level or comfort cruiser sled.

All the sleds you mention above are excellent sit down cruising sleds and will work admirably for you. I'd also recommend you look at another model -- the Yamaha Vector. It really is Yamaha's comfort cruiser right now for a one seater.

I rode mostly the same as you back in 05, so I tried a few different sleds in the Yamaha line and found for the best overall ride was the RS Rage. Handles great on the trail and has a longer track so its alittle better in the bumps, very comfy on longer rides. We used to put on 200-250 miles per day.
The 3 cylinder has plenty of power for trail crusing, the 4 has more but better suited to the lakes. I don't have very many long straight strecthes so I didn't need the Apex or Attack.
I have since gotten into more Offtrail riding and now ride a Modded 08 Nytro.

The phazer is actually pretty comfy, the skinny seat hasn't been an issue for me on 200+ mile days. It really comes down to how you take bumps. If you sit down thru the bumps and just like to turn the handlebars in the corners then the phazer ISN'T the sled for you. If your use to standing up for bumps, working the sled in the corners by leaning out, and spend most of your time in the 0-60 range than it IS the sled for you. Some people complain about phazers being cold but I haven't had an issue riding down to -15f with 10 year old Yamaha/FXR snowcross bibs and jacket BUT I did install a mid height windshield which helped a ton. I got to ride an Apex in the cold and it didn't feel any warmer to ride than my phazer. Its a quick/snappy sled not a fast sled. It launches like a 600, tops out like a 500.

It's not just about power. One of the geared four cylinder engines will be better in terms of vibration, engine life, wear on the clutch, sound, and other aspects. In theory at least.
