What belt and clutches have a remote chance of working with that for any extended time? Or is this purely for a drag set up?

Any of the STM clutches or the better quality aftermarket clutches.

Of course you couldn't trail ride this on pump fuel unless you have a meth injection setup, and its not enough HP for serious racing against the uber high HP Suzuki running super high boost numbers. There up there at 750 HP and over now! Hypersports is working on getting there with the Yamaha triple, as I'm sure a few others are as well, but I just don't see them getting close to that type of power. The 1200 Doo is right there, but of course it is a much more robust engine platform to begin with and has more cc's to boot. Typically Yamaha builds their engines to be much lighter and smaller.

That’s what has me baffled as to why this exists.... it’s neat to know they can, but to not be something you could ride, and only half of what you can race, just makes no sense to me. But it’s awesome it achievable so simply

Well, you have to start somewhere and then just take it up incrementally until finding the weak components and fixing the issues on the way up the scale.

Mike, et all - this makes me wonder, what do the hyper-hp drag guys do for belts? Just curious how these rubber bands can hold that kind of hp for even 4 seconds. Anything special?

Hypersports has their own belts now but many guys use off the shelf stuff. We used to say 10 passes per belt but they are now doing 3-4 and tossing them. Worth a couple thousands to have a new one on.

Gonna have to find a way to make the 998 bigger as the Hypersports super stroker is 1177 cc and the Doo is also. Maybe now that they are running methanol and turning the boost down to mid 600 HP levels to actually race it will be easier to get these up there. Methanol looks to be worth 10%. The Suzuki is proven and reasonable if you can call it that to get onto the 600's.

I can easily see hypersports and Glenn......the other guy pei...questionable...and the two... completely different ways of running...drag for hyper...and those quebec guys...radar runs...
