I logged 615 miles on a 600-etec over the weekend.

This sled lacked the power/excitement of the Vector EFI motor I rented last year. Good power, just not "grin every time and hold on tight" power like the Vector was.

However, I felt that it handled more precisely/easily. It seemed to corner easier and took less effort to push hard through the trails; suspension handled the pounding better than the monoshock ( probably just a set-up issue)

We got between 12 and 18 MPG every time we filled up, with the average right about 15.5.

Used 6 quarts of oil. I remembered why I won't buy a two stroke!

I'd like to ride the 1200 renegade and the nytro XTX to see which I like better.

6 quarts of oil sounds high. A friend has one of those and he doesn't come even close to that in oil burn. I do agree with you on the other statemnts though.

I love the handling of these 600's but your right the power is like a 440 compared to my SC apex. I could never ride on no matter how well they handle LOL

Yes, I was pretty disappointed with the oil and fuel mileage. The dealer claimed we'd get no less than 18MPG riding hard, and could count on 200 miles a tank, and also claimed we'd use about 2 quarts of oil every 500 miles. I posted my results on the yellow website and got 0 responses.

I work at a ski doo dealer (as a wrench) and I replaced 4 eng this year

Called them on each one they said replace the Eng. Well that's good but still didn't fix the problem they said they have not had any problems with them one leaned out so I guess they will be back. The one that leaned out they said if it comes back we will have to replace both objectors and the ecm. They wouldn't give atho to do it this time. I feel bad for these people

We own a carbed Vector and a 600 E-TEC. I agree with the power comparison. The Vector just pulls harder. Our Ski-Doo is a GSX short track so the gearing is probably a little different than the Renegade, but we get way better fuel and oil mileage. We usually get 22 to 24 mpg and the first gallon of oil lasted nearly 1400 miles. Yes, it gets ridden fairly aggressively.

The 600 Etec in our group is pretty close to that, he is right around 16-17 mpg and a a quart of oil every 150-200 miles. His FIRST engine, which made it 2700 miles, averaged ~20-21mpg and a quart every 300 miles so I think the de-tuned his computer a bit. Its probibly cheaper for Skidoo to replace the whole engine block than change injectors, those are VERY expensive. buddy has had to change one on his 60hp Etec outboard along with a piston.
