Well got out and stretched the legs a bit in the Turtle Mountains today. In all put on 75 miles on a half tank of fuel. The snow conditions were primarilly hard pack with some fresh snow 6"-24". Cruised the trails at around 60 mph.

How are people getting 75 on a whole tank? Deep snow?

Welcome to the break-in period. The first few tanks on my '08 went really fast too. After 400-500 miles you should see significant improvement.

Hes saying he's impressed with the mileage.......half a tank and 75 miles while others empty a tank in 80 or 90

I'm well past the break in and I ride mostly deep powder. I get between 80-100 depending on conditions.

That's the one thing I don't like about the sled, but that's okay :)

Drive a few more miles, I was at half a tank mark at the 55 mile mark...warning light at 76miles, out of gas at 88 miles.....

I believe the gauges read wrong, to me half a tank is more like a 1/4 tank left

My Wife's Nytro is unreal on fuel. It actually makes fuel as you ride it!! I try to leave with a half tank or less and after about 75 miles her sled is full to almost overflowing! We have to stop frequently to siphon out fuel and put it in the other sleds in our group. I know it sounds great but unless your willing to dump raw fuel out on the trail or carry empty gas cans you can't ride alone. Oh well I guess everything has its disadvantages!

You're doing very well with regards to gas mileage for the first ride, but I've seen similar results. My neighbor gets much better mileage than I do, 20+ mpg all the time, but it all depends on how you ride. Get in deep powder and you'll know what we're talking about.

Full or overflowing after 75 miles ?!?!? You're joking, right ?

I am sure the deep stuff will suck the fuel back quicker. On hard packed trails however it seems pretty good. Unfortunatly the deep stuff does not come around here. We get an inch and it packs or freezes cause its gets cold, then get another inch. The only deep stuff we have is drifted areas.

xtx

I was looking at this machine to buy, thought it would get 18-20 miles mpg. I would put the trail tank on, but now we're talking 10-12 mpg and maybe 15 mpg after break-in?

Deep stuff will really suck back the feul on any sled.

Saw 80km at half tank today. That will mean that I'll have a hard time gettong 100 miles out of a tank.
