I purchased a set of 8" billet wheels with and axel off of an apex at haydays this year; so i would be running two wheels on the inside. I talked to the service guy at the yamaha tent and he said it should bolt right up and there should be no problems... I also talked to mountain machine perfomance and they said i needed their FREEDOM axel to offset the axel. Does anyone know what is the right answer... I would think the yamaha guy knows what he is talking about; But i would hate to bust a rail because somebody didnt' know what they were talking about!!!
For what its worth - I mainly ride out west in poweder, hillclimbing, boondocking, jumping. Also Last year I streched my sled to a 136" (Best decision i have ever made btw!!) That shouldn't make a difference but it might.... Thanks in advance for your help!!

Do you know if it is an offset axle, or a re-location axle? When you install it in your sled, the bottom of the wheels should line up with the bottom of your hyfax, if the wheels run below your hyfax then you don't have an offset axle and IMO you should not use it.

Thanks for the info... I am pretty sure its just a re-location axel. Its just a straight axel its not "off-set" if you will. I understand the concept of centering your wheels and how they should even with rails. However, by the way the Yamaha guy was talking it sounds like it would work with the relocation axel. But after reading stuff on the net I thought I would get a few more opinions.
Has anybody put a big wheel kit on an RS?

We have a re-location offset axle that should work on your machine and allow you to run 8 inch wheels. Without the offset, your wheels will run below the track, therefore all of the weight and presure will be riding on those 2 thin spots where the wheels are. This can cause track damage, as well as possibly break something in your skid.
