A big hole still remains, why no Phazer motor or something similar in this chassis for less$$$$$$ every sled they have is over $12k .

How come Doo can make the Ace for around 8k their cost to assemble can't be much different from CAT.

85 hp, quiet muffler , soft suspension version with wind deflectors for everybody that doesn't need to go 100 mph and doesn't want to spend as much

am I asking too much??? OR will the black and green have that in their arsenal when it's released? :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

I would like to see a 700 baby triple with about 100 ponies??? Now I may really look into that... MM ;)!

Baby trip would be cool but probably heavier then the twin.
May have to buy an ACE for the wife. Kinda shocked that Yammie continues to ignore the lower HP sleds.
Dooo sure sold tons of 550 fans and 5000ss around my area. Ditto for the CAT 570 and POO Indy . there is a big market for light cheaper warm comfy lower HP sled.

The Phazer does not cut it in this regard.

If yammie won't make the ideal sled for me by 2015 I will be buying the ace 600. A 900 would be better if they can keep the gas mileage above 22...... MM

I'm actually surprised they never put the phazer engine in the DBII as an option. The 80fi is plenty of power to cruise 60mph all day long and not complain but I suspect the the 80fi probibly isn't much cheaper to produce than the 130fi and would need to be sold for 1000-1500$ cheaper to lure buyers in. Then again they have the phazer based venture and they could have easily offered a 121x15 tracked single seat version of that sled lowered down 2-3" and had a cheap decent handling cruiser. The 80fi engine is kinda in an strange class, there really isn't another 80-85hp class sled out there anymore besides a Race Chassis SP500 which really isn't the best TRAIL sled. I too was hoping for a new Twin in the 100hp range in a new chassis.

Yes as soon as the Venture light came out I was wondering where the 121 was. It has a bigger gas tank, bigger plastics for wind protection bigger windshield and softer wider seat

seems like a no brainer to all of us, Doo is supposedly selling lots of ACE and the biggest complaint is everybody would like a tad more power. Yammie has the motor, put it in a chassis watch the dealers smile as the line grows longer.

ACE 900

Well skidoo now has a 900 ACE I didn't check the price yet but if its cheap the way the ACE 600 is they will probably sell plenty just like the smaller ACE.

I have been waiting since the Phazer came out for that motor in a trail sled for the wife, and maybe me.

Why Yamaha why can't you do this?????? :o| :o| :o|
I don't want a yellow sled but her trailing arm Phazer is WAY outdated.

Next year maybe????? Been hearing that for years......yawn that tales getting old.

They replaced the Nyto with the Viper ok I get it but why replace a sled in your line up ( nytro) when you have completely ignored perhaps the biggest selling segment ?? Why not come out with the sled for the meat of the market before upgrading what is basically your ditch banger?

Sadly headed to the ACE store soon I think....not by choice but by need.
Don't need to go 100mph,don't need to spend $13000 but do need a new light lowered power 4. Stroke.

A yellow sled ARRRRGGGGGG..... can't believe I'm saying that :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

X2 on every thing you said............ That 900 is looking good to me...... Any idea what the price is yet? MM.

The base model ACE 900 mxz is more expensive than a base model nytro(10500 compared to 10000)...Will probably weigh the same as well, but has 45 less horsepower. Yamaha sells more highpower sleds than they do lower powered ones. Which is a reason to not offer or spend too much development of a new phazer.A new phazer rtx is also 8600, much cheaper than an ACE 900 and with about the same power. Plus the phazer is likely lighter than the ACE due to the ACE being a triple.

Why can't Yamaha do this? Because they don't listen! Sorry but it's true, hence why they are fourth in sales and will be for some time.

New sled being released every year for the next five years, or so they say.

Yamaha doesn't sell smaller sleds because they don't make what people want!!! Not because there isn't a market for them. The Phazer?? Is not a trail sled for traditional riders it is a dirt bike. are you really going to put your wife on a sled with a rock hard seat and NO wind protection and then ask her to ride with you 150-200 miles a day up there in Maine when it's 0 or 10f maybe even less??? Ya ...... Let me know how that works out for you.

Then again if u want her to never want to go with u again we'll that might be a good idea

I have been riding my crossfire and nytro without a windshield since we got them and ride in Maine. Only problem I have had with windchill is when i do not ride with my face mask. and even those problems don't happen till i am constantly going high speed, which by what you said doesnt seem to be much. Also why the need for a 121? I find our longer tracks make for a much smoother trail ride and soak up the bumps much better, there is a reason why many of the newer sleds are featuring longer "shorttracks". I only see the issue of a long track when trying to take corners aggressively. Also, since you are thinking about a new sled for your wife, bring her to some demo rides and let her try the sleds. Though she may not need the power of lets say an apex, she may like the chassis and handling. A rider does not need to use all the power of the sled and she can still cruise on a high power sled.

She's tried my 05 Vector and hates it too big, heavy, fast she feels intimidated she loves the whole no smoke thing.staying warm is extremely important along with a soft seat and very soft suspension for riding in the 25-50mph range. Throttle pull needs to be not just light but also short travel . The butterfly carbs on her 2 stroker have a short pull, with small thumb/ fingers that's important to

AUctualy was thinking of a left over Cat 500 LXR as well .they probably have the best wind protection. She has Reynolds disease her fingers can go numb sometimes in 65f room.

If Yammie wanted a Cat deal couldn't they have put the Phazer motor in the Twinspar for a nice comfy trail cruiser for less$$$?????

She'd probably be happy if I could wedge a new Phazer motor in her old Phazer chassis
