Just checking to see what or if everyone is using on the upper a arm bolt and bottom nuts that hold the a arms in place. Medium strong or nothing at all. Manual I have doesn't call for anything but I figured a litle medium strength can't hurt.

I use red loctite on most everything. It amazes me how many bolts have come loose on this sled.

Thanks for the reply grizztracks. Had considered using red too but wondered about getting it appart again in the future. Any problems when you've gone to take it appart again?
I don't plan on taking it appart again but ya never know what might happen.
Thanks
Ryan

It's not normally a problem taking things apart after using the red.

I use the blue instead of red and never had a problem with anything loosening up.

I guess the bottom line is using red or blue Loctite is better than none at all. Don't trust any of the bolts on theses sleds even if it has a lock nut. Yamaha locking nuts are junk and don't stay tight.

I once had a tool at work, no bigger around than a pill bottle - give me such grief to get apart, that I'm cautious with red loctite now. (I didn't assemble it)
I literally had a 2 foot wrench and a 4 foot snipe on it, jumping on it to crack it loose - it was amazing, yet totally frustrating at the same time,.. like having whiskey dick with a super hot chick. lol

I used red loctite on all my a arm nuts. Do not want them coming loose at 90mph...
Heat the Loctite up before trying to remove it. the heat will "melt" it and make it much easier to loosen.

Ended up using blue as any red I had left was starting to get hard in the bottle. Have to restock the shelves I guess now again though as the blue is almost gone now too.
I have had a bit of trouble in the past with some parts using red loctite. Heated them up like nytrozula said and they did finally come appart. Few spots that are hard to heat around the nytro though with all the plastic in the way..

Heating red Loctite works well when you have access, but exactly how do you get easy access to the upper A-arm subframe threads without catching plastics on fire?
Like you, Blue is my choice and contrary to what's been said, I have yet to see many bolts come loose on a Nytro when torqued to spec, and that's with no loctite. I'm pretty anal about checking critical bolts every year just to avoid loosening problems.
I use blue on my upper A-arm and nothing on my lower a-arms (ever try to remove them?). Three sleds and no issues, and one has 25,000km's!
I used red loctite on my spindles and A-arms once....and after nearly stripping the upper a-arm u-joint bolt, never again.
