Lots of slop in the steering is "normal". 1/4" slop in the A-arms is getting excessive. When the bushings on mine wore out, the "hubbed" end cracked off, increasing the amount of play a lot. Funny thing was, when the new lower A-arms were installed under warranty, I got all new bushings for free! If you're alignment won't take, check the spindles for twist or bend.. If you're sled's on warranty, Yamaha might cover it. (bushings, not spindles, I mean)

all the bushings in the frontend are gone, yamaha is taking care of it they were bitchin cause i have 2800 miles on it, so i guess the yes coverage they want to sell you, must have mileage restrictions. they no about the problem so any body who really rides thier machine better check frontend as my steering went bad quick. same problem with nytro
Ulmer sells bushing kits made with OilLite/Bronze great reviews on them.I bought new stock ones and then added grease zerks.About 1500mi since and no play.Should have come with grease zerks. If they wear again I will get the Ulmers.

So what is the procedure for checking the front end and steering for slop?
Thanks
Just grab the top of spindle with skis off ground. If it goes clunk and moves around its your bushings. With skis on ground step on skis and lift at each a-arm if sloppy its your balljoints. My balljoints are still tight with almost 4000mi so its not all.Bushings were very bad at 2500mi.Check out this post.Grease fitting works for bushings. Is a link to a video of slop I made also.

Come to think of it I noticed my right ski was off a little, it goes in on Wed. to a new dealer, They asked me to bring my sled in. Imagine that. Told me they would go throught it to make sure all the recalls have been completed and fix any warrenty issues that may be there.
