Hey guys, on my 07 GT im having alot of issues with the front plugging and the sled overheating. Will closing the Front of the tunnel solve this?? With the factory shrouds installed i have minimal Ice build up on the boards, but tipping it on its side to clear the ice dam blocking the heat exchanger is getting annoying!! Also how did you guys close your front?? Did you drop the track or what? I tried taking the seat and stuff off and wow...im finding you almost have to take the whole sled apart cuz everything is connected to everything on these things. Thanks guys

No I don't, but I have drilled holes in the plastic below the radiator, this has helped me so much with rad plugging, all the snow falls out onto the trail instead of sitting in that pocket. I just want to get this resolved cuz something is plugging the heat exchanger hellla bad. (like some of the pics i have seen on here)

Seat, tank etc has to come off.Its really not that big a deal. Then just get a sheet of aluminum and some rivets and put it on.Hardware store will even cut aluminum to size for you.

Alright thanks...me and the old man closed it up and im hoping I can try it out soon..confidence in the sled just went up 2 fold..the open tunnel is a nightmare.

I didn't close the front part and I got no problems with snow on the boards or in the exchanger.

11.25 x 25 inches and 14 rivets(not sure how many I needed)
cost 12$ at the local metal shop, they found a nice piece of scrap for me(scrap being too small for them to use) Actually only 6 dollars, but the exact cuts cost me 5 or so..

Closed the tunnel with no problems at all. You should tell your dealer to put the fan on because its free. My sled does not overheat often, but the fan has come on without the overheat light comming on. So it still must run a little hot at times without the ice build up.

Yeah well the dealer we bought it for gave us a super good deal without telling us it was a auction sled..0 miles but all the leftovers were in a big auction..and now it has no factory warrenty..but the yamaha shop that sponsors me for motocross is contacting yamaha about a fan kit for me. Have any of you noticed the exhaust heating the alluminum and having snow stick to the heated alluminum? Just a possible concern of mine.

If the alum is heated it probably shouldn't stick..
I finally installed mine this week.. I'll try and get out and ride
some pow tomorrow.. just have to figure out how to... ;)

Sealed up the tunnel with a panel. Took it for a ride, snowing some pretty wet sticky snow today. As seen here, when I came to a stop I generally became a snowplow.
The snow was so sticky it would fly up and just plaster itself to my chest and pretty much anything it touched.

No icing in the tunnel just sticky snow, I could flick off with my fingers.

I'll follow up with more pictures with different conditions as they happen.

I had a blast today, every weekend I hear kids ripping around town
so I decided to follow some tracks... and I ended up here..
now its nice to know that I can ride from my house, and enjoy a couple hours of riding without driving up into the mountains.

I got stuck pretty bad once,(sorry no pics) this snow was like concrete when it packed. Most of the snow was about 8-16 inches deep. But if I stepped off it was up to my thighs.. when I stuck it I buried it about 4 feet down to the soil.

View from where I was, you can barely see the tracks up where I came up.
I tracked this out a few more times then moved on.. the light was kinda flat so I headed home... maybe more pictures next time.

Beautiful country. Was out there two years ago duning quads at SandMountain Utah and then St.Anthony Idaho.Definitly want to go back.
