Not sure if I'm the only one who noticed this but I wouldn't run a 10w30 oil in a snowmobile. Cold start ups would have very little engine protection. :S

Started using 0w20 full synthetic last year seems to work okay. I believe the brand is Irving. I used to use 5w30 Mobile 1.
I have a 2009 Nytro RTX with 1500 miles about and use Redline 0w40. I switched to that for 3 reasons one it has a high Molly content, two it's an Esther base stock group 5 synthetic, and three when I switched my ram to Redline the "hemi tick went away in 300 miles and can't believe how smooth it ran. I also had the same results with the nytro with how noticeably more smooth it runs and idles. Also I drained out fresh M1 to put it in.

Your kidding me right, its full synthetic it flows at -40C. So all these cars that run 10w30 are going to have cold start damage? A four stroke is a four stroke my friend whether its in a car or your sled.

I get the point but when is the last time I rode in -40C that would be never. Do that test again in normal riding temps like -15C to -25C max and you will see the 10w30 full synthetic is fine.

Just curious. Why 10w instead of 5w in your frigid Saskatchewan temps?

I buy it by the gallon when on sale use it for everything, wifes suv, sons car, quad, garden tractor checked the bottle in the garage and sure enough it says 5w30 so I use both. In normal riding temps the sleds start and run fine. As mentioned who rides in -40c I am not a trapper lol. If I was a person who had to use it everyday I would have a heater installed and plugged in.

So no Rotella T6 on the poll? I"m in the same boat, I won't get that slightly discolored water called Mobil 1 near my modified turbo subaru wrx, nothing but Rotella t6. The sleds get either T6 or yamalube, depending on which I happen to have on hand.
