.......that's happened to myself and a couple other members is after coming to a stop and sitting for 5 mins then decide to start it up and go again the sled revs up and doesn't move like something is binding. Both times the snow was soft and sun was out and only thing I can think of was ice in the tunnel. A little more rpm and it finally surged forward but still I thought now wtf is going on????

check your primary clutch rollers if you see cracks or don’t roll properly.

were your sliders melted/glued to the track clips

Geez I hope not there was tons of snow/lube

5 min is too short of a stop especially if your sled is tired. You will find if you give it a 10 min break it will be more willing to take right off.

I wonder if this is a progression of the symptoms I mentioned to you Rob. Is it possible the secondary is binding? Just to get this out there, as I said to you, my secondary binds after taking the belt off and putting it back on, no matter how high in the secondary I get the belt back on. It smokes the belt as though the E-brake is on until the secondary finally turns free. Just bizarre.
Now that I think of it, I wonder if the E-brake is sticking? I usually set it to get the belt off.
Maybe the caliper is locking up and not releasing after coming to a stop?

Could very well be the brakes for sure. I believe there's a thread in here somewhere from Knapp about it.

I'm having caliper problem with the brake sticking on slightly and not releasing. Could be. Was going to get it replaced next fall when I go thru the suspension changing out all the bearings etc.

Hmm. If that's the case, I wonder if it's a shitty cable sticking. Like I said mine is bad after setting the E-brake and it's never been an issue after coming to a stop possibly because I'm not on the brake hard enough?

Ahhh, there is no cable brake on them anymore.

Gotcha Mike, sled not in front of me to get a look.

x2...... I plan to add 4 wheel axle and some skid wheels if possible. 4000miles of good snow and my slides are thinsville. did Polaris wheels on my nitro and added a few. that one has most of 18000 miles on the set that are on it and look new

I know this may sound crazy, but I encountered this often and as Doowithblue said the snow was soft. I find that my tuners with snow trackers stick to the snow often when I park in soft, deep and wet snow. I'm in the habit to rock the sled every time to make sure that the skis are not stuck and away I go without the using up my belt.
