Yamaha must hear from all of you who have the "dead button" for them to recognize and start doing something. To get a juggernaut like Yami to start moving quickly to rectify first year machine glitches, they must hear of widespread and common problems among many owners. I, for one, will do my duty to god and my country and report all problems I have with mine, straight to yami, with the quickness. Too bad that doesn't apply to crappy mtn lite shocks

No reverse
I have pair of Mountain Lites - same problem with both - reverse doesn't always want to work when you need it. Rocking sometimes works but more often it seems that you have to physically lift the rear of the machine so that the full extension / height is achieved. When you do this you will hear definite "click" indicating that the reverse has engaged and then the indicator will begin to beep. Its a temporary fix but I think that Yamaha needs to address the soft rear suspension which I believe is the real culprit - Customer Service old me to buy "accessory springs" which is a lousy response to a legit complaint especially since they bottom out badly except when in total powder of 3' +.

Add mine to the list of crappy reverse operation- I bought mine with reverse so I wouldnt have to tug it around but I had to do that 5 or six times in one day!
I had to get off and move it forward or back for it to engage and this sucks for someone who weighs 140 lbs.
I hate to say it but I am losing faith in this sled- I guess i should have learned about buying a fisrt year sled when I bought my '03 Firecat and it was constantly in the shop. At least AC took responsibility for their screw ups and sent out recalls and notices for bulletin repairs- I havn't seen or heard nothing from Yamaha.

Thats not true- my hyfax wore right through to the metal in 350 miles- that DID keep me from riding until I got new ones installed.

Hyfax and Carbides are wear-able items and I have 900 miles and mine are still fine, Maybe the snow was missing for only 350 miles... Plus for $40 to replace them thats like what .10 cents a mile

Apparantly you havn't been reading the forums too closely because there are a whole bunch of Phazer owners with premature slide wear and even my dearler said it was a known problem. My carbides are still good so it's not because I've been riding dirt.
Yes its true it cost $40 to replace the slides but add $60 for the oil change plus $15 for a special filter wrench - thats $110 in maintenance in just 450 miles.

Over all I have been very satisfied with this machine, but this reverse issue is really a pain.

Dont get me wrong- I love my Phazer- just a little annoyed with some of the issues.

Yeah, the reverse thing really sucks! Sometimes lifting up and pushing down the rear end doesn't work. You gotta turn the key off, fire it back up, rock/lift/push to get it into drive then repeat to get it into reverse. I'm calling Yami for sure.

Lets face it reverse only works when you don't need it! Jumping up and down, rocking back and forth......is not in the owners manual! They don't show it on the videos....so it just isn't right. Anybody complaining to Yamaha directly?

i know yamaha is working on fixes for the reverse issues.. rocking the sled back and forth, or even sometime having to lift the tunnel to get things engaged for me isn't a big deal. a dead button of the other hand is a problem. i'm pretty sure yamaha has a fix right around the corner which will solve these issues. i was pretty upset about these problems and after talking with yamaha i'm confident they will take care of us. give yamaha a call and let them know your concerns or feedback.. they log each call and your infomation on file so there are records of these calls and problems. i was pretty impressed by the customer service yamaha showed
