Semi-Direct Injection
ESKIMO
Extreme
My speculation is that Yamaha will unveil a "true" direct injection system, much like their outboards. They are going to primarily move out of the traditional 2 stroke engines, and focus their development on 4 strokes and direct injection 2 strokes. Direct injections seem to be the most promising for the OE's because of its clean, lightweight and yet powerful characteristics. Can't wait.
What's the history of the Manufacturers in unvailing there new sleds. Doo and cat started it this time. When will the others release theirs?

Listen I love my Yamahas but I also have a 03 Rev 800 X , You guys are saying stuff with no factual basis, Mine averages 14 MPG and only falls to 13 in the worst conditions, it has never fouled a plug, easy on oil, I get 1500 plus miles on belts, and is one of the fastest 800 on the snow.
I have 2400 hard miles on it and it and has never had a single thing go wrong.
My riding partner bought the exact same sled I did at the same time and his is a touch better on fuel but I attribute that to our weight difference I weigh 280 and he weighs 200.
It makes my Yamahas look stupid on the lake and in the trail, I just Love 4 strokes so I bought 2 and will sacrafice some performance to have them.
There is no prejudice in my opinion only facts.
I could care less about brand loyalty, I ride what I like.
Truthfully I am torn between them, in the bumpy trails I want to be on the REV on the big open trails I rather be on the Warrior, So I have to take a look at the trail conditions and decide.
Sounds like a tough life doesn't It 8)

I have 2 friends with Revs and they both get under 10 MPG with them slight clutch mods on both and thats all. What are you doing to get such good MPG Both sleds are good.

Stock Clutching, you can't beat it.
The fact is as soon as you touch the clutching you kill the fuel economy.

yes ted,and anyone that dosent believe teds statement about clutching, heck just look at all of us that clutched our rx1s last year and ran them faster, most of us that are honest, about our milage will attest to the fact that we lost milage w/clutch mods, that is why yammi has the rx1 run to 9500-9800 than creap up to 10,000,also helps w/oil usage. So ted to get back to your statement about your revs milage,we ran 2 mach zs i 04 rev an 00 v-max 600 and my 03 rx1 clutched,me and the 600 v-max equal, and the rev less than 1 gal. less the machs 2 gal behind, now i was suprised at that, but one had stuck valve and other all modded out.

Ted you are right. I have 2 buddys' on MXZ 8's. One on a 2002 and one on a 2003 both stock. The 2002 sucks the gas back (almost 3 gallons behind me) and the 2003 is about 1.5 gallons behind me. Doo clutched the 2002's more agressively than the 2003's and that is the result. Add a clutch kit and that mileage is GOOOONE!!

Looks like I was wrong, it is going to be a 951. Skidoo is undecided if it will be a midseaseon or 05 release? :?:

How do you know? Do you know what model....Shorty or Mountain? SDI or NA?
Details Please  ?
I am not considering one but I have a buddy (long time riding buddy) who decided to take a a year off and possibly re-enter if Doo comes up with something interesting for 2005. Funny....I am constantly re-cruiting new riding buddys...they drop off pretty fast!!
