Anyone having overheating light come on?

Once while riding down a dry road for longer than I wanted to. Toasted a carbide, too.

sorry i/m not phazer junk!! I was just wondering if anybody was still having overheating issues after they have installed their fan on their phazer.

The Venture Lite had the fan stock. The only time I have ever seen the overheat light on was on this last trip I took.
After FULL throttle for 3/4 of a tank, the light started blinking. I was breaking trail through 4 feet of fresh snow, and when I reduced power to 10500 rpm, the light went off and didn't come back even after short bursts of full power in the deeper spots.

According to my dealer I cannot put the fan on my Phazer which is a Std model because wiring isnt there.Am I being handed a line? What wiring is missing?Has anyone else with a Standard got the fan?

Phazer overheating

Phazer Mountain Lite will overheat too - even with fan running. Had our two machines out today for a run - hard packed snow and the light would come on on both machines at about the same time. Really pissed as we were being very "gentle" on them and most times kept speed to only 45 kph or less but still had to stop every 1/2 mile or less and to try to cool them down. Only thing that seemed to work was to put it in reverse and nail it to bite into the crust and get some snow up on the tunnel cooler - I do not appreciate having to do that with a 2" paddle as it will likely shorten its life.
Fair enought that the slides will oerheat given that the 2" paddle keeps the track up on the hard packed (trade off for deep snow) but should not cause the engine to overheat at such low speeds. Have not experienced the overheat light when riding in powder or soft snow.

I rode 35 miles in 58 degree sunny weather yesterday, and no light. I have 950 miles no my GT so far, and the only time I have seen the light is on a long(4 miles) icy road stretch.

Temprature have been around 5deg/C - 41F the last 3-4 days and now I also have trouble with overheating. Its worst when driving slow (40kmh) Thinking of buying a fan or maybe try to get it covered by yamaha. Have never experienced this #*$&@ on any of my other yamaha sleds the last 20 years. But I'm shure they will take care of it.

Just wish Yamaha would step up to the plate here and fix the problem enough is a enough....I have the same problem....07 fx....over 2,000 k's and it has done it 2 times....come on boys step up...I've spent enough money on your stuff over the years....this should have been fixed long ago....

Fan are backordered here in scandinavia and I was told that I could not expect to have one before early may.. Wonder why :drink:

My dealer told me that they would have a complete list from yamaha in a couple of days about things/fixes that will have to be done . Hopfully yamaha's planning to take care of all problems with this 1st year sled so that next season will become even more fun than this :-o
