Why would they have stocked up on one of the most reliable engines ever made?

i have heard of water pump impeller issues in the side by sides. know a guy that is on his 3rd one and 1was aftermarket one. they might be stocking that for the guy that doesn't pay attention and totally cooks his engine from that issue.

You wouldn't want that one, that's for the Wildcat side by side, the cylinder head exhaust flange is different (in both the Yamaha YXZ & Arctic Cat Wildcat) and the exhaust manifold/header won't bolt up like a sled. You need this one if you want one for a sled!

SXS 998 engine is has "high" compression head/pistons, different cams and is naturally aspirated. As Srxspec points out, the exhaust manifold is also different as is the head.

Actually Yamaha will have to supply parts for 10 years after 2025 models, so most parts should be readily available still.
