Apex/Attack CPR Turbo...

Just got some pictures of the ‘heat-vent’ design that is being released with the Simons CPR Apex/Attack Turbo Kit. This design looks to be the ticket for allowing heat to escape out directly over the turbo. Looking good Jeff…

We're looking forward to getting some of CPR's kits out on the snow around here and would like to make one of you a special offer -

For the first CPR customer that Jeff confirms as paid and shipped to Manitoba, Brothers Performance will give a complete turbo installation at 50% of our regular price. You can PM me for details, Jeff will be the one to inform us who that first customer is.

I was just off the phone with CPR a few minutes ago. They have their IC cores in house now, and expect to be shipping in the next two weeks.

How conservative are Jeff's numbers? It seems most everyone out there advertises 230-260 hp on pump fuel with their kits. Just wondering how come this kit has a lower base HP of 200? Not trying to flame etc just wondering what the difference is?

My CPR front mount at 12 pounds boost has beaten some sleds that guys have claimed dynoed at 240-260 hp. This is at sanctioned drag races. Actually kinda sorta put a pretty good hurtin' on em!

Actually, my bender dynoed at 221hp at 12# running 10.9-1 afr...

So I can't think of someone running 250-260hp at 12# boost :tg:

Well I know it depends on the turbo too. 12 psi on one turbo dones't mean it flows the same as another.

I think Jeff's numbers are just that - conservative. He is using the same turbo as the other kit Mfrs. on the same displacement engine, with what looks to be an as big (or bigger) intercooler. His kit would be capable of (at least) the same HP numbers as anything else on the market. From reading his press release, I have the understanding that he is shipping the kit in a configuration that requires no engine modifications (no shim or LC pistons required) and will be safe on pump fuel. Guarantees 200hp or your money back. Think about that for a minute.

There are several ways to reliably get more power out of this (or any other kit). Better fuel, cam timing, and/or simple engine mods will take you on a $10 cab ride from 200HP. This just isn't the way that he is marketing the kit, it doesn't mean it isn't possible.

The previous post needs to be deleted!!!!! Most people on this site are above this s**t!!!!!!! Clean it up!!

need4speed, sorry guy, I have re-read your post a few times, and I don't see what point you are trying to make. If you have an issue with anybody, take it off line. MrSled is pretty clear about his rules on this.

I was pretty sure this kit was capible of the HP of the others but now I realize this is with NO motor mods.

your right about my issue. off line it will be.

I agree with you. All three make excellent products - I've worked on them all. There is a lot that (should) go into a buying decision that involves this kind of $. Reliability is huge. Winter is short, and if you're going to spend this kind of cash on your sled, you want to be out riding it - not wrenching. Service. If something does go wrong, can I get an answer and support for my problem quickly? I've called both Dave and Jeff many times on issues relating to either my own or customers gear. They answer their phones (even at times a lot of people have gone to bed), and they know what they're talking about. Performance. am I getting what I paid for? Don't think you'll hear anyone complain about their Powderlites kit, and I think CPR's record speaks for itself.

Anyway, there is a lot of great information that these vendors can share, and which is in the spirit of this site overall. If everyone plays by Tom's rules, that is exactly what happens.

Well guys I don't know what fuel controller he is using but like others said the fit and finish are top notch just as everything I have seen from Jeff. I think he goes the extra mile in designing and producing his stuff and making sure that when he releases it that they are no problems. Like lakercr said if two or three people are starting with the same engine and adding the same turbo then it comes down to design, fit, finish, and how efficent it is after all I still think he holds some pretty impressive world records with more to come I'm sure. If you take a look at the heat vent that he made THAT THING WORKS I have seen it in person I don't remember the exact temperature numbers that he had shot with a infer-red heat gun but there was alot of heat being released from under there (that will help my hands cause they get cold fast) I can't imagine not having it I think that plastic would get real soft without it. All I can really say is that RTX really flies I did have a chance to drive it on Sunday night before we lost all of our snow by the way Jeff thank you for giving me that opportunity to drive it. I can't wait to get my lake race setup from Jeff on my 07 RTX. As for Need for Speed 2 save your engery theres no room for that crap on here. Jeff keep up the good work.

Hope to install one soon! Sweet looking package! Now someone please send SNOW! ;)!
