1. 04 Rev Renegade 600 sdi 535 lbs wet, no gas
2. 04 Polaris Switchback 800 509 lbs wet, no gas
3. 04 Warrior 625 lbs wet, no gas.

I can tell when I'm empty and low on my R1, but only because of how the bike wheelies. On a sled its a no go.
Yamahnator, my sled wheelies all the time, so I guess I can't tell the difference, because it's a sled. Oh ya, I guess a bull shitter too. You have know right, calling anyon is a bullshitter. When I'm running down a trail @80-100mph and I go over a few risies I can certtainly tell if the tank is full or it has a 1/4 tank in it, as how high the front end wants to wheelie after coming off a small or large rise. I'm not sure how fast you drive, nor do I really care, but in the fast groomed trails in Ontario, I can tell you when it's full and when it's notl, by the way the sled performs and reacts at high speeds.

Wow you must be super sensitive. It has nothing to do with your sled doing a wheelie. My RX would wheelie whether the tank was full or empty. Even on the "lighter" two strokes noticing the difference is impossible. Sad thing is that on my R-1 the only way I notice is that the wheelie comes up a little quicker and I don't have to rev *quite* as much. And even then it has to be between a full tank and an almost empty one. I can't tell if I have a half tank or a full tank. FYI my bike is much lighter than a sled so the lack of gas is much more noticeable. But believe whatever you wish. It doesn't matter to me. I have nothing to prove to someone who's still a might rev happy :tg:

Well Yamanator, I'm not REV Happy, but I'm not biased like you are to Yamaha. I try to give an honest opinion, through my 25 years of riding experience. I only drove 2 RX-1's and I did not like them at all. An 03 and an 04. In fact and I believe most of the Yamaha guys would say the same compared to the 05 RX-1's. I love the feel of the Apex, but still didn'nt like the feel of the 05 RX-1. You sit so low on it, I felt like I could barely see over the dash. They just did not have the feel that I needed in a sled. Now back to the fuel issues. Yes, even on a light weight sled, it's pretty much impossible to tell the difference in from 1/2 tank to a full tank, but from a full tank to a 1/4 to almost empty is noticeable. You state that your R-1 comes up a little quicker. Well, I know in my previously owned sleds, I could tell when the fuel had burned out and the sled was a little more nimble when accelerating hard on it for a long time at high speed runs through the trail. It took alot less effort to have the front end come up. Sensitivity is not an issue with me. Just quit the BS and give the facts straight and instead of trying to plant your own thoughts into everyone elses heads, just because you think you know all of the answers. Quit being some damn biased and open your mind a little. All sled do have some good qualities coming from each of the Manufactures, but they are all not perfect and all have their quirkes.

Actually it's ironic that you call me biased. I've stated repeatedly, on Doo talk even, (where I know you monitor) that the Rev up till 06 was the big bump champ. The riding position soaks them up and gels the front suspension and the rear.

I have never claimed that yamaha is somehow the perfect sled with zero problems. I HAVE maintained that they are comparable in every way with current two strokes. Something that I rate you as still in the "skeptical" crowd.

I'm not gonna argue with you, it's pointless. You don't seem to get the whole bike thing. And calling yourself "unbiased" is silly. I'm not unbiased, no one is. We all have our likes and dislikes. Theres guys on this site who feel that the rev is like riding a jackhammer that is tippy in the corners. You obviously don't like the RX-1's ride. It all comes down to matter of opinion.

On some things though there are definate minorities. Considering all the people who've stated they can't feel any difference in the full tank / empty tank and then you, the minority/only person to say he can. We can proceed from there with a little reasoning that perhaps the majority is right. That is all.

The weight is definately noticeable, regardless of center of gravity. Yes if balanced properly is will be less noticeable but still is noticeable. In the last three years I have had an 03 RX-1, 03.5 BM REV, 04 F7. All 3 great sleds in their own right. My biggest complaint on the Rx1 which I had first was the weight. Suspension in my opinion was good, no real complaints. Get it in the bumps and the suspension handled it but boy could you also feel the weight. The REV, could not feel the weight-however I also could not ride the sled for 100 miles without needing my knees replaced-again this is me. The F7, trust me I was a cat hater and have eaten so much crow since I bought it but this thing rides great, has great power, and you certainly do not feel the weight. As far as the new Apex and all other 4 strokes, as soon as I ride one that feels "almost" as easy to ride my F7 will be gone. I am a true beleiver in the "turn the key and go" theory and am sick of filling my tank with oil. As for fit and finish on the three sleds I own I think it is a two way tie there and don't really think I need to get into which one came in last place.

On a cold winters day in Paridice Michigan I road my 03 121 RX-1 with an expert X , 03 600 Ho rev and a 03 Firecat 700 on the same 10 miles section of trail. I liked the REv but I felt Like I had to stand up to ride it and It felt like it was going to nose over in every corner. I hated the F7. The front end was to light in my opinion. My RX-1 road within 5 percent of those sleds in the bumps. It felt better in the corners and I didn't feel a weight differnce.

Just my 2 cents.

I've been riding my 03 as a 136 for 2 years now. I challenge any of you rev boys to try to out run me in the trail.

Oh ya, Here we go............. :tg:

Better yet, Come to the Sault and I'll ride my new Apex GT and run you from the Sault to SearchMont. That's a 50 miles ride. I don't need a REV to run with you..... P.S. The REV's sold.... the guy is going to pick it up when my GT comes in.

Let me know, when you want to come and I'll show you what a fast groomed trail is, big wide and fast sweeping corners, or we can ride some short twisties if you really want too. It don't matter to me. Besides all that, the scenery is just awesome.

10 miles is hardly enough to get a feel for how a sled handles. Have you made any adjustments to the suspension on your RX1? Is it set up exactly how you like to ride? Is it the sled you ride 98% of the time you go riding? Maybe that is why you like the way it rides and handles better than the others. Not trying to get into a pissing contest here and I think you would agree 10 miles is hardly a true test. The REV is by far the best in the bumps-notice what style all the race sleds have gone to, this is for obvious reasons and there is nothing more bumpy than a snow cross track. I agree with you that I hated the way my REV handles in the corners, it made all the corners but until you got used to how it felt and trusted it things did seem a litrle hairy. I can not wait to try out the new Yamahas this year, hopefully I hate them so I can save the 10K and possibly stay married(6 new sleds in the 4 years of marriage and only one was hers-what a slefish bastard I am). I loved everything about my RX except the weight. The ease, smoothness, and silent ride make the four strokes what 90% of snowmobilers should have. As you said these are all our opinions, but do you think if your RX was 80 lbs lighter-not talking fuel here you would like it even more? I thought so. :4STroke:

10 miles 0ne way so it was acctually total miles. The trail consisted of wide sweeping turns, tight turns , studder bumps and 2 to 3 footers.

You are correct my sled was set for me. LIke I said I like the Rev and hated the Cat. I just didn't see this huge improvement on the REv over my RX-1.

I can feel the difference in the trails I like to ride, tight, twisty and bumpy.I am hoping the center of gravity difference makes up for that some. The only time you would really feel it is when you get good and stuck.
