Just a heads up on what is going to be offered as far as mirror kits for the Apex/Attak models. The mirrors will be the same style as what was used on the 97-02 deluxe models. They will mount to the upper portion of the side panels and use an adapter plate between the side panel and the mirror to put the mirrors at the proper angle. This will be sold in a kit with two mirrors, the adapters, and all the hardware. The kits will retail for $79.95 and I believe the part number will be 8FP-W2628-00-00. We will be stocking these kits, bringing them to the shows this fall, and offering our internet pricing as soon as they become available this fall.

Not really knowing what those look like and have only seen the ones on the Venture, will those mirrors go with the styling of the Apex models. I know its premature but I was just wondering what you thought.

Here's a picture of what the mirrors look like. They will bolt to an adapter plate that will then attach to the top of the side panel to put them at the proper angle. I think they will look fine. Most people opting for mirrors are going after the function more than the fashion.

Bummer..

I was hoping for the same mirrors that I used on my Viper. They were the ones that bolted to the side of the hood. Granted they weren't the best but they helped block the wind on very cold days. I am afraid of putting on anything that could be knocked off.
No, I don't spend time running off the trail but after it snows there usually allot of low hanging branches and some branches sticking out from the side of the trail before the groomer comes through.

I will still keep my fingers crossed....

jmahler, I have those mirrors on 3 sleds and have never knocked them off hitting branches or debris being thrown up at them. They do fold back fairly close to the hood on all 3 sleds, so when boondocking they are out of the way. I have 8200 on my 97 XTC and 9400 on my 02 Viper. I have broken them in rollovers though. But I don't think it would be fair to blame THAT damage on the design of the mirror,LOL. More like ,Stupid Operator error LOL!! I really like the stability and vision these mirrors offer. IMHO, much better than the Viper "windblockers". I sat on a Viper with those, and couldn't see anything but my elbows! Gotta keep an eye on my kids. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

Dave ;)!

Sorry, those mirrors just don't cut it. Last years warrior mirrors, integrated with windshield we're the best I've ever seen. These are a throwback and step back. Just my opinion, and I could be wrong. studdog. I suspect the reason to go back to a cowling mount is due to the wide variety of windshields available on the apex.

Studog, I'm with you. Thought those motorcycle type windshield mounts were the best snowmobile mirrors ever. The 97-02 were ok but should stay retired along with the V Max.

Thanks for the great responses! I think I am going to have to wait until I see some on the trail to make my choice. It is especially important to have mirrors this year since I am going to be riding with my daughter for the first time on the trails. I think she has done enough laps on the Scoot around the house. LOL! She also passed her Vermont safety course and made maximum honors this past year.

Are there any hand guards with mirrors incorporated?Has any one tried them? And do they work?

Speaking of handguards with mirrors I saw at a recent trade show that powermadd was going to be coming out with an extension piece to put onto their style handquards that has a mirror on it.

Something that will work without drilling any holes..... Who could ask for more.....

Now all I need is a mid windshield in Chrome!

I just spoke my dealer and he said that two crates came in today from Yamaha…..

 Actually I'm waiting to see if Sportech's handguards are going to fit the Apex's. If they do they have a sweet set of red chrome for my Apex RTX which will match the red chrome windshield.
