looking to spend up to $160 for a new battery for the ‘07 apex. Any recommendations would be helpful please thanks.

I have had great luck with the AGM

I just had an issue with a Napa AGM in my Polaris 600. I usually top it off good in the Spring for storage than expect it to be OK for the late Fall startup. This year it didn't have enough voltage to turn the sled over. I put the trickle (1.6A) on it for a whole day and it didn't recover. Finally took it out to replace it (dated Mar 2019) and decided to see if I could rejuvenate it. Watched a few videos about AGM's and decided to go for it. Hooked it up to my car charger for overnight and it was over 13 volts in the morning. Disconnected it from the charger and it was staying above 13V by mid afternoon so I reinstalled it and it was good to go. The car charger, while capable of over 10 amps, barely registered any charge current during the overnight. I kept checking the battery and the charger for temperature but both remained cold throughout. Moral of the story is don't give up on your AGM, they can recover from a deep cycle if you really give 'em a good charge. My Apex, of course had no issues this year. Has a regular lead/acid battery and the clock was still bang on, started right up. Can't recall how many seasons on the Apex battery but at least 3.
