How can you tell if the shock is working? The shock comes up on the display and the bar graph goes up and down, but the shock dosn't seem to be working.
:o|

Good question. There was another post here just the other day asking the same thing but it did not go anywhere.

My display works properly but I have never really felt much of a difference in the ride no matter where I adjust it to.

I could not feel any diff with the electric Olins when it was stock, but after the shock was revavled it was easy to feel the diff.

you can tell if its working or not by moving setting and pushing down on rear bar, noticably harder and softer but sled must be running. If you think shock is bad you have to remove shock and take off spring to see if the shock strokes all the way in and returns to fully extended by its self, if not shock is bad.

if the shock isnt working it usually will not do anything on the speedo.. (it wont allow you to move up or down)

Just had Pioneer do mine, but haven't rode it yet. I never usually adjust mine anyway, but Bruce said I should notice a difference over stock, but might not be night and day.
The factory shocks on the GT are sweet, but I think they have a weakness when it comes to guys that ride really hard. JMO..

Bruce at Pioneer also revalved my GT last year. I could feel the difference in the settings while riding. If the wire breaks, you don't get controls in the display.

I added as many zip ties as I could find room for, and have had no trouble with losing the wire. better over kill than having to fix it in the middle of ridin season!

When the shock is rebuilt and revalved and you put it back in and put the electrical to it is it simply plug and play? or do i need to recalibrate it the same way as non electric ones. just got mine back from shocktec and not sure about what to do next! By the way, my wire was broken for gosh nows how long, and my thumb controler still showed changes from soft to firm! That's why i never noticed the broken wire before.

I found if it is not working (not noticeable) it was because my preload was too stiff on my monoshock. It was overriding the effect. I backed of the adjuster a few turns and it was becoming noticeable. I backed it off a few more and perfect...now I can stiffen it in big bumps from the handlebars and soften it for the stutters. I ride it halfway when the trail is pretty smooth. I start by getting my handwarmers set for the temp of the day and them switch to shock adjust where I leave it for the rest of the ride. I am 260 lbs and the shop set the shocks for my weight and I found them really stiff compared to my Ski Doo, so I did not mind backing them off a bit. I only bottom out on big, successive bumps.

Winner ! :-o

You got it, if shock spring preload isn't set correctly, you're unlikely to feel the difference in the valving change.
