Can I just replace my RX1 handlebars with the Apex hooked handlebar? Are they the same shape in the center. I've got one heated grip going bad and thought instead of buying new grips and then buying the hooked bar ends that I want, I would just buy the latest apex handlebar and grips. Would I need some kind of risor to put the bars back to their current position.

You will need a riser at least 5 inches to get the height back. The RX-1 bar has a big u shape to it to get height. The apex bar is pretty much flat with a slight bend to it. I have the apex bar with a 5 inch rox riser. I did not need to extend the cables. The riser is almost tall enough for me to stand comfortable but im 5 10.

Cool, the handlebar question is taken care of. What about the grips? If I buy Apex Grips will this solve my RX1 not being hot enough? I've read a bunch of posts about 06-07 apex and updates. The grips on my 08 Apex are fine and I was hoping this would help the RX1.

I have the 07 apex bar wired in parallel. I wouldnt say that they are any hotter that the stock bar wired in series.

I tried the parallel idea at the start of the season. I must have remembered something wrong on how to set it up. All I did was fry a fuse and it never worked. I put the wires back. Thanks for you input. I think my wife will be excited about the new handlebars next year. I like the idea better than replacing the current grips. She wants the hooked handlebars and I can't see adding the heat sink with the add on hooks.
