I'm in the process of changing my 2003 rx1 over to the apex seat and handlebars.I bought the 2006 nytro tank cover and it fits perfect. The seat should be here tomorrow. How much of a riser do you need with the apex seat and handlebars?? Do you need a longer throttle cable and brake cable if you stay around 4 inch? The nytro has the riser and pivet on it,but it is expensive thought yamaha.I would like to have this all changed over by the weekend Thanks

Get the mountain throttle cable. As for the riser get what ever you feal comfortable with. 4" with pivot 6" etc . The combos are quite a few.

Ive read on numerous postings here that you dont have to buy cable if you stay 5" or lower but you will have to loosen some cable ties to get the slack needed. Most people are happy with that setup

You need cables to go over 2". I tried a 3.5" pivot on mine and the brakeline wouldn't reach even with rerouting. I've been running the apex seat with no risor for almost 2 seasons...but I'm waiting for a 2" pivot risor...I'm too cheap to buy cables lol.

I've got 07 Apex bars on my Warrior with a pivot riser without new cables and it works without activating the TORS. I'm pretty sure it's a 4" block but I'll have to double check it. The down side to this mod was the grip heaters... OUCH! Way more $ than you'd like to spend for grips! I love the new bar position. Especially off-trail. I've got pics that I'll post tonight when I get home.

That would be great. You had to buy new grips??

I used a Powermadd pivot riser and 2" block for a total of 3.5 lift, but with the pivot - the Mountain cables were not necessary on the stock bars ('04). The [Apex] bars should be fairly similar in height though.

I went with a mounting throttle, and choke cable so everything routes stock. Had to use a powermad brake line from Rich. The e-brake was also tight but mine was shot so I just removed it. I have a apex seat with 2" isovibe

Here's my bar upgrade. I put the original grips on for that weekend. We were going riding and I didn't have time to get the Apex grips and heaters. It uses separate heaters that the grips go over. My original grips had interated heater elements. I think the new ones ran like $120 for the heaters and $10 for each grip. Got the 'right' grips and like the look. Was it worth the $$...dunno.

That looks perfect.I'm going to get the 4 inch riser and pivot tomorrow. I see you have the temp gauge, that is my next project. Thanks for posting the picture

can you guys show me pictures of your apex seat and bars mod on your rx, i want to see how good it looks, im intrested in doing this to mine. my stock seat has a hole in it anyways. :rocks:

Sleddheadd - those factory bars? I couldn't run my factory bars with the riser. I tried it and they were too high. I didn't like the bar postion with the factory bars and the riser thats why I went with the 07 Apex bars. I tried my buddies Attak and LOVED the riding position. Just my 2 cents!

those are factory bars. with that rox pivot riser i was able to move them right where i needed them! the only problem was that i had to put a low pro windy on! otherwise it is cool!
