apex VS attack

no prob, im sure there are guys on here that can do it alot better, i think the blue and red attaks would look better with a colored chrome windsheild that matches their colors, i just did this to get an idea..

The Apex will only win on a long straight trail or a lake and not by much and it will take it some time to do it. At least that's what it was like on my Warrior. I don't expect the Attak to be any different. The Attak will out accellerate the Apex from corner to corner.
IMHO the Attak is the perfect sled. Go look at the other guys 06's, they are all going with longer skids, what's that tell you :ORC

If I want the matched hook up, I'll add the studs and still have the advantage of cornering quicker. Much quicker!

I've owned both zoom and again beg to differ. Why do you think the turbo guys go with longer skids?? Traction :ORC

As far as cornering goes, The ony trails I couldn't keep with my buddy on his little 600 was a really tight (hair pin curves) trail where only the non studded sleds could slide their #*$&@'s around.

To each there own. My 121 works fantastic with my turbo...BBY
would work better with a 136" tho with or without turbos they win at every drag race I've been to(when studded equally) ..121's cant compete just ask Neon phil 380hp turbo. And in the trail thats why I love my 136" without studs because it brakes good and I can slide it around corners and hookup great on the straights!

I tried messing with the paint program and got a side shot

OOOOH I like that Red Chrome windsheild. ;)!

now can you do that to the taller one, like in the pic I posted ealier.

TK's

I just clicked on it to make it bigger, there is this happy face up in the top left hand corner ;)! :D :D

Looks like I'm getting a Blue Attak. I visited my dealer today and he sold me a Blue Reima jacket for $130.00. Price tag on it was $339.00  I couldn't pass it up for the price.

It's the same jacket I had when I had my RX-1. You can't beat Reima, very high end stuff.

I tried the red ER shorty...had a better white background to copy/paste windsheild. Don't check for details on this one or you'll see many errors :drink:
Gives an idea though.....

I need a picture of a tall chrome windshield so that I can copy it. Need a photo shop program to make a new windshield....I'm sure Yamaha and Sportech will have many windshields available soon....

Attack is faster

The Attak is geared slightly lower than the Apex ER (similarly like the RX Warrior is geared slightly lower than the RX-1) to accommodate the longer track. This gear reduction takes a little off the top-end, but keeps the mid-range and low-end acceleration consistent with the short track models.
All the 150 FI's have the gear reduction nyny.

Fuelie,
You may be correct, I am new to Yami. I read in the Maximunsled.com review that the 136" tracks are geared lower than the 121's.

Rode the Attack, Apex and 05's this weekend.

We raced the 05RX1 and the Attack (both demos) on the lake in muni with 2" of fresh stuff. Dead even from top to bottom. The Attack rider was 40 lbs heavier than I.

I have to agree with BBY when it comes to attack vrs apex gt or er,now this reafirms my belief that it truly is more difficult to hammer any 136 down a very tight twisty trails, smooth or not, this comes from test driving both 05 rage and vector back to back thru the twisty stuff last weekend, now neither one was set up just for me,and my riding style, but both were brand new out of the box set ups,and straight down the railbeds both topped out togeather 107-109 speedo and gps 97 but add the twisty stuff, and it became evedent the long track had much more push, now this was driving hard, now i tried to addjust the transfer rods on the rage,as they are like the ones i had on my 03 rx1,but the tools yammi gives you with the sled, striped by quickly,as the rods had never been broke free before, and i dident fool with the vector as it worked much better, now this is just my opinion, but i dont need the extra track,if you do just go get it,after all it still is a sweet sled.

Beast, keep in mind that both sleds had stock carbides, with that being a given, of course the Rage is going to push more it has a larger footprint. Put the right carbides on it and it's a different ride :ORC
