Without tearing into a whole bunch of wires and connections when a problem arises, would it be wise to pull some apart and fill them with dielectric grease?
Just curious if this would be good preventative mtce and possible help with some of these issues listed here?

Irv, you're right there, I did just that to the other grounding blocks throughout the sled and have had no other issues with the electrical system.

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME, WENT OUT TO THE GARAGE YESTERDAY TO FIRE UP THE APEX... IT STARTED THEN STALLED, IT WOULD CRANK A COUPLE OF TIMES THEN QUIT. CODE 43 . I WENT RIGHT TO THE BLACK GROUND BLOCK AND IT WAS MELTED!!! REMOVED JUNCTION, SOLDERED ALL WIRES TOGETHER AND SHE IS GOOD TO GO. THIS SHOULD BE DONE BY EVERYONE CAUSE IF IT HAPPENS ON THE TRAIL YOUR GETTING TOWED !!!! GREAT SITE THANKS

I just got code 46 on my wife's sled this weekend and stalled, would not turn over when flipped the key......so i'm guessing that this is what i'm going to be facing.

Hey guys,
I just had this happen to me on the trail while i was doing the RAP Tour. My buddy blew a belt so i stopped and shut off the sled to hepl him replace it. When i went to start up the sled again i got nothing. The dash powered up but no error codes. I could hear one relay clicking but had no fuel pump priming or starter. Luckily where we were we got cell phone service so my buddy looked on the ty4stroke for potenital problems for this issue. We came across this thread tore the sled apart on the trail and sure enough the one grounding block was melted. We took the wires out of the grounding block and grounded them all together using just the metal clip that is part of the plastic grounding block and taped it up with electrical tape. About an hour and we were back on the trail. Thank God for TY4stroke.
Saved the Day and saved my buddy towing me.

An hour on the trail is pretty good. It took me a day and 1/2 in a heated garage to find it the first time, I'm really glad I started this post cause alot of time and money has been saved and the possible humiliation of being towed home by a Doo ,Poo or Kitty cat is huge. At least I got towed home by a another Yami. You'd think I'd be smart enough to do this to the one I just bought but I'll do it in the spring. HAPPY SLEDDIN

Do you guys have a lot of extra accesories tapped into the main wiring harness or are these stock sleds?
I have all my accessories, gauges, etc tapped into a relay direct off the battery. Hope I dont have these issues. But I know where to look now!

Kinger---- i do not have any attachments other then heater visor attachment and a desulfate battery charger port. if i were you, the next time you have your air box off i would clean and apply dielectric grease to these grounding blocks as a perventative measure.[/quote]

I would just eliminate the black plug, mine had no corrosion at all, it was melted, just a bad design. solder wires together to be safe.
hi guy's ,i also have been chasing a nasty gremlin screwing with my sled and head , quick question, when testing ground block's must voltametre always read 12v ??
my sled give's me code 34 and 35 .

When testing the grounding blocks you go from wire to frame or ground side of the battery , you are checking for continuity not power. Before you get to deep into looking for this problem , checks the grounding blocks first, if they are not corroded or burnt , greese the steel bridge in the plug anyway, if they are good then keep looking. The starter relay is know for corrosion too. It's beside the battery with 2 blade type fuses, this is a good spot to look and also greese it before the season.
