i did a test with of the groundblocks that i cut off ..i put it in water and then sat it outside to freeze ..just damp ..and it had no continuity in some of the wires ..till it warmed up ..exactly what would happen after not being run..the electricity arcing would warm it up and make it start

I am having a problem with ground on tail light. Are there only three ground blocks? Sounds like there are more places to look. Also I found the one by the clutch with black wires. Is the one with brown a block also? My black wired one was okay, didn't check brown wires. The third is up under the coolant tanks? What colored wires are in that one. I am getting confused, was looking for just black wires, now I here they are brown also?? I spliced a wire from tail light ground to chassis and it worked fine. Thanks for any help again

there are some under the battery too anything thats brown or black with one of them blocks on them is ground as far as i know ..i soldered all mine together and it didn't help but it didn't hurt lol..did you try greasing that plug that goes under your seat on the right hand side ...its somewhere around the coolant bottles i think by the fan

The plug through the seat was good. Where I disconnected it up in front of the seat had no continuity to there, so I spliced a wire from there to the frame. Just wanted to ride, and that worked great, but if I might have problems down the roar, I thought I had better find all the blocks and check them. Like I said the one was good, didn't know brown wires were ground also, so I didn't check that plug. Going to pull in the garage and check that before our big storm. Maybe check the ones under the coolant tanks another day.

Just checked the brown wired one by clutch and all was clean. Might go and check the one under coolant tanks. Where else are there some?
when you take the hood off.. at the front right where the voltage regulator i think they call it is..there is a plastic cover above that with two phillips headed screws in it ..take that off shine a light in there or reach in..you can almost see or feel them in the wire loom ..you have to take the battery off and carress the loom up past the battery a bit ..if ya unplug that voltage regulator it will come easier also at the bottom of the battery holder is 2 10 mm bolts they have to be taken out too

I went in there and saw the small square plug with black wires and all was good there. Also went in that rubber boot under light where a lot of plugs are, and any black or brown ones I checked and all was good. Took coolant tank out and couldn't see any plugs. I read there is one by the driven clutch? Where does the negative wire go from the battery? Or does it bolt to the frame some place?

theres one by the driven clutch but up above it and on the other side of the frame . the ground has i think 3 places it bolts one to behind the battery on one of the starter botls , another onto the voltage regulator and the other i haven't really traced...if its just a tailight i don't think where the ground bolts would be of any help ..if the headlight works and the feul pump cycles or even if it rolls over i think it wouldn't be a big ground ..is it the break light or the whole tailight all together ..did you check the switch on the break handle ..you can hear it click when you press it without it running i think

The whole tail light went out. As I said the plug up in front of the seat had no continuity to the frame. That's when I spliced a wire in and grounded it to the frame. I can't find any more plugs to check. All I checked were good. I rode it after I fixed the ground for the tail light and had no problems. The tail light was the only thing that went out.
