Apex XTX Snow Flop (or lack there of)

So have any of you riveted some belting or other rubber to your existing snow flap to extend it? I saw one photo and I should have saved it.

My buddys bitch constantly about the amount of snow/ice that my XTX throws out the back. And now with the larger lug track, it's even worse.

I find that the XTX's bumper is much higher than the GT I once owned. And the stock flap just does not do a very good job. Anyone else experiencing this? Should I just bend the flap down, or extend it with rubber belting. I really don't want it to look half-assed either.

I would leave it as is.. this is how we keep people off our #*$&@ when trail riding... if you ride that close you will regret it...LOL

you could try the apex mtx flap as those are usually longer.

i know i am never close to sapplingkiller as he runs a bravo flap on his sled once he rips off the stocker on something.

Maybe a viper flap would work, they are a bit longer. I know a few people have put them on nytros. I think the xtx's are much worse than the other apex's, the flap is stuck straight out almost.

Yes, my friend's have the same "complaint" as well. The flap seems to set much higher compared to an SE. Was wondering if the flap flattens outward when riding and if securing it from doing that would help.

You guys crack me up! Gotta agree though if they are complaining then they are too close or to slow to pass. Screw them! I have been there swearing and admit doing something stupid to pass quickly one time..... long story.

Been riding behind my brother's Apex xtx for 7 years now. The roost definitely got bigger when he went to the 1.75BC track. I don't mind it. It a good way to keep off his flap. Every now and then he'll throw a huge piece of ice. I figure it keeps me alert...

I added on to mine. Used some short stainless bolts and fender washers to attach a 6" chunk of a rubber tailgate liner to the bottom of the stock flap. I did it as my back was getting covered with snow and it also helps with lubrication and cooling as it keeps more snow in the tunnel. It doesn't look too bad. I would like to find an actual longer flap though if someone knows of one.

The snow flaps that the pro racers use on the snow racing circuit would be what you are looking for, but not so good when backing up though, dealers should be able to get them, or aftermarket.

I do have a spare Viper flap that was purchased for my daughters LTX. But we never installed it. The Apex's bumper is different enough, that it would be difficult to attach that flap without other mods. It's just not the same.

Thanks for the tips guys. All good suggestions. I may extend it with belting before our Michigan trip. This past weekend, I kept having a scratcher drop. And after 160+ miles, I had over 25lbs of ice built up under my tunnel and flap. Those boys really bitched when one of those chunks would drop. WOW.

At this point, it's not my problem. And if they make it my problem, I don't have issues bringing up the rear.
