if its a matter of speed, think about the reason those 600s and late 80s 650 Polaris' were fast. 2 main things- weight-suspension. My old 650 that was ported and had a set of PSI Stage II pipes ran 117 on radar. Not bad for a little 650. The advancements have been in both categorys, engine and chassis/suspension. Imagine how fast an apex would be if it had a SRX Pro-Action in it? Id be willing to bet 5-10 MPH real speed at least. Just a thought...BBY

Having been a proud owner of the 1st year 600 (1983), it was a piece of crap. I got mine before Thanksgiving & by Christmas I had 42 miles on it & 1600 Miles on my truck between the ruined trip & Going to dealer to get a new Crank Shaft with Combine Bearing. The 84 thru 87's were better, but not close to what we have now. Try to run these on the crap gas you get today! :ORC

I ve been riding for 23 years , agreed price and technoligy has improved !!! I still think prices could bre better, but wouldnt change hobbies for anything!!!
