Rode yesterday, it would have been an awesome ride if it wasn't for a meltdown.

The last two weekends were my last ride of the year (each time), but it looks like mother nature is gonna co-operate and let me have one more kick at the can with a ride again this weekend.

Still lots of snow in the outback, just a little more difficult to get to.

Might just be another ride in May month for me yet in them thar hills.
It ain't over till it's over for us diehards!

pics from this last weekend...up high we only ahve about 100+ inches left :p

Groo...what...?
Around here, the groomer is kind of like Jesus - everybody have heard about him but only a few have actually met him...

Not nice, especially when you're not a member of the local club. ;):D

And i know you have met me grooming the trails...

Then I guess I am one of the lucky few that have actually met Jesus. Funny thing I did not recognize him...

Do not get me wrong, I am not complaining about the local grooming service. I would not be the right person to judge this because I am not spending enough time on the few trails that see frequent grooming. When riding on my own, these trails are nothing but half-boring transport between my favourite trails (which you never ride, obviously...) and my favourite free riding areas. I understand that touring riders, families with small children and old people (my old man with recent back surgery, for instance...) prefer groomed trails, but for my own sake I could not care less. Actually, riding perfectly groomed trails only would be...well, not very inspiring...

Furthermore, I see no reason in being a member of a local club supporting SSCO (a totally screwed organization full of amateur level politicians supporting a ban on free riding and limitations in the technical level of the snowmobile...). Actually, from time to time I have considered to re-enter the club if the club exits the SSCO membership, but after listening to some of the other club members and now your insult (it is obvious that some of you are very stressed about the fact that I am not a member...?), I am little bit more hesitant.

Anyway, this is way off topic. Let the few lucky bastards that are still riding report about something interesting instead...

Yamiboost,

Snow like that on May 1st! That is unbelievable! I could send you a picture of my green lawn that I have already mowed once!

How long can you usually ride up there? When do the lakes become unsafe up there?

The snow is going fast the last few days. Hard to get around in town now trails are not too bad bit bumpy seeing the groomer has been finish since mid april. Some of the lakes are getting bad now the brooks are all opened up. Those pics of the road was taken on higher terrain and there will still be snow there when its all gone here its about a hour and half drive from where i live. We usually ride from late november till earily to mid may farther up the coast they ride in june.
