Hey Pro116 (Ryan) - I didn't plan on it, but it sounds like it will be nice friday. I will give you a call. I just have to check with the war department.
Hey Srxspec (Allen) - Anytime we can get together, you can take 'er out.
Hey J - I heard the turbo is coming along! That's awesome! I have to get someone on there that is much lighter, to see what the difference would be.

Sounds good Ryan. You know how it has been, off and on all last week and this week. Did you get the storm today as well? We might have to race paddle boats, if we get any more. They said your area got over 5-6 inches.

Hey Terry,
Nice meeting you and rpmsrx at Union Grove last night. Looks like I should set my SRX up for asphalt next year. Weeknight racing would be fun.

Great meeting you also, Hypermax, and rpmsrx. Yes, we need to get more Yamaha riders out there. Would you believe, there aren't any Yami's running at Kaukauna? Last night, I now know why they call Ski-Doo's "belt eaters". (Let's do the math, Mmmmm......, 3 runs - 3 belts = going home early. Oh Darn.)

8/8/03 - Weather was pretty good, started out at 73, but jumped to 84 by 1:30, humidity was 45%, and climbed to 84% by 5:00. I started out by trying Haulers Heelclicker setup, and ran an 11.235 @ 112.11 mph., 60 ft. was 1.584, secondary was still the same with a 47 straight, and a green spring set at 80%., (Rpms were 9,400 till 1/2 track, then climbed to 9,700) I set it at 50%, and my 60 ft. was better at 1.513, but time dropped to an 11.278. I then changed back to the HH's with the same secondary settings, and ran an 11.192 @ 112.59mph., 60 ft. stayed exactly the same at 1.513. changed secondary tension back to 80%, and ran an 11.173 @ 112.06mph., but my 60 ft. went back up to 1.576.
(These numbers are what is in my head right now, I will get the timeslips today out of the trailer, and change what I didn't post, like 1/8 mile speeds and time. Yesterday, I was busy checking out the girls at a local bikini motorcycle wash, and helped out with the dunk tank, what a life.)
Hauler - your setup was pretty close to the way we have it now with the HH's. Did you have any problems with clearance? I did, but I came up with a quick fix.

NOS-Pro, what kind of cleareance problems did you have with the Heelclickers and what did you have to do to resolve. Thanks.
The reason your 60 foot times went up when you went back to 80 degrees from 50 degree is because your slipping your belt in the secondary. You need to run your secondary around 60 degrees. If your RPM's fall below 9700 drop some weight.
Jason...in my part of the country you actually stop the belt from slipping in the secondary by running a stiffer driven spring or by running more twist. Might be different in the east?
If your secondary is to stiff it will not open causeing belt slippage. Am I wrong?
Turk
lus any spring Yamaha makes that is stiffer then the green has more torsional twist. Not like the polaris Silver Blue that has more side pressure. More twist on the secondary will increase your backshifting and less will increase your Upshift. In a drag race application you want it to upshift as fast as possible without sucking the belt into the secondary.
Again Mike am I wrong?
