Asphalt Results 2003 (RX1)

It is also better to run a little too much secondary spring pressure when drag racing. If you hook hard or hit some soft spots you will bog huge & race is overif running borderline spring twist. Running just a bit tighter in the secondary will assure this won,t happen...even tho it may cost ya a little mid-range punch.

Turk: I've always run my secondary as soft as I can without sucking the belt down. There are a million ways to skin a cat "clutch a sled".

Secondary spring rates on the rx1,if u r still using stock sheeves try the silver spring set at 90 degrees for 1/4 mile if u r only going 660 than 70-80 is good turk is right on the snow and ice w/this set up,i did alot of testing last year w/yammi and team secondarys the best top end w/yammi was the short wind silver at 90 degrees for my sled, but jt i still agree w/you on almost every application other than this sled,i have run cats/polaris and now rx1 all but the rx1 work most of the time looser is better for a short run,but not this sled. 8)

Ashfault

We are talking ashfault where backshift isn't a factor. I talked to Turk on the phone this afternoon and he agreed. The one thing Terry needs is a 48/40 advantage helix set with minumal twist.

Snow is a different story!!!

cluching

yes there has to be millions of combo,s but i to run verey little secondary spring twist but i also run lite arms 57.5 and a green secondary spring at 70-80 deg twist and i run with mod mack z,s and trade wins . there is a trade off heavy arm,s need more arm wht this goes on and on but i constantly have seen 140 mph on the dream meter. but i will tell you that when the wind screen bends over and touches the handle bars you are realy moveing. lite secondary springs dont seem to be hurting my perf. and after a run like that i stop and open the hood and blelt cover i can hang on to both cluches with my bare hands and thay are just warm to the touch thats all. just had to clean up the carbs to get ridde off all the varish in the jets then it ran strong and removed screens from under the needles and seats to improve the fuel flow i found that i could not blow any air throu them. no air=no fuel on top = no speed

Hey Terry or J, if it can wait until Hay Days I can hook you up with a 48/40 to use. I think both of you are coming right?

Hey Srxspec - I will be there, but on Sunday only, still fighting for top ten at the track. Unless bad weather comes to Kaukauna, I will be there sometime Saturday.

Hey RobX-1 - The setup from Hauler, is 4 washers and a long large allen screw in the tip, nothing in the middle, and 3 small washers with the allen head screw in the heel. The problem was the spider clearance. I tried 1 weight, and it rubbed way tooo much. I thought about taking a washer out from the tip, and it did clear, but I wanted to try his setup the way he sent it to me, so I used both stock plastic bushings, (one on each side), and 1 thick plastic bushing from the kit, to offset the heel clicker. I thought it might hurt it or cause a vibration, but it still ramped up on the roller o.k., and felt good.

Hey everybody - I got the timeslips, and wow, did I miss a bunch, posts that is.

Heel clickers(4 washers and long large allen head screws in tip, nothing in the middle hole, 3 small washers with the allen head screw in the heel. 47 straight with a green spring set at 80%)
1st run
1.588 60 ft. 6.994 @ 93.727mph 1/8 mile 11.272 @ 112.037mph

2nd run - secondary set at 50%
1.513 60 ft. 6.936 @ 94.589mph 1/8 mile 11.231 @ 111.206mph

3rd run - back to HH's with 7/16 with thick washer in middle and tip. Secondary at 50%
1.536 60 ft. 6.920 @ 95.725mph 1/8 mile 11.175 @ 112.583mph

4th run - same as 3rd
1.539 60 ft. 6.935 @ 95.617mph 1/8 mile 11.196 @ 112.321mph

Round 1 - spun like a @#$%^&
1.793 60 ft. 7.217 @ 94.802mph 1/8 mle 11.510 @ 111.352mph

I wish I could try a 47/60, cause this RX1 could use the top end charge. It is better with the 23 top gear now, good pull al the way thru.

Hey Marc - I took mine out, but I removed it from the rubber ring, and put the rubber ring back in to seal. I have had no leaks at all. Worst comes to worst, you could take out the inner part, and put in a new thermostat for winter.

Hope you do good!

No problem Marc, let us know if you need more help.
