Hey pro116 - Man, you work fast! Hope you enjoyed the races last night. Was really glad you came down to give me some good pointers. I will call you tonight, and we will set something up.
Hey rxrider - I would have put the gear in this week, but it didn't come till late Friday. I think it will be the way to go also.
Well, everybody, didn't make any changes for this weekend. Gear didn't come till lat friday, and I had things loaded up already. The track changed traction compounds this weekend, from an oil base, to an alcohol base, which made it real sticky. Ken, a crankshop ski-doo, ran a best of 9.45, when he usually runs 10.00 flat. My best time of the night was a 11.79 thru the traps in eliminations, and that was hard on the brakes. It would have easily ran an 11.50, and clutching, jetting, and gearing are still all stock. Temps were 68-74, with races dropping down to 62. humidity went from 65 in the morning, to 40 in the afternoon, and soaring to 72 at night. You had to wipe the sleds off, in order to sit on the seat. Everybody was running real fast and brokeout, with me breaking out the most from my race. pro116 came down to the track, and was helping me out with ?'s and little things we can do for the rx1. He has a rear skid from an srx, along with front shocks, so that is this weeks project, along with the 22 tooth gear. Track ratcheted almost every time I left the starting line, and we figured it was because it is still to high in the rear. The srx suspension will drop it much more than the stock skid. This will keep more of the track tight around the drivers, to reduce ratcheting. pro116 really knows his stuff when it comes to this, thanks pro116 (Ryan). I was told they placed a pic of me coming off the starting line, from the first week of racing, when it was still raised up. I will post thie link when I find it. Talk to everybody later.

Hey RX Warrior - I thought it was a good pic also. Too bad it wasn't at night, and more of the front end. This sled looks awesome with the blue headlight covers. Thanks for posting the pic.
Hey Tooold - Clutching should be coming real soon. I wish I would have started with the srx suspension right away, but I needed to know myself, if it was possible with the stock skid. It did work well, but had a hard time with lowering it. I have a heel clicker set up, and pro116 and BBY have heavy hitter set ups to try. I was doing the math, and if we can get this into the low 11's, we are definetly looking at low to mid 10's with clutching. Then, in fall, the bottle, mid 9's.......................
Hey Pete - Getting real close now, pro116 gave me some real good pointers, and I also think the srx skid and shocks will work good. Should be deep in the weeds this week. I like the light colored leathers, better than dark, for hot days. Just a little harder to keep clean.
Thanks Guys!!! I am trying my best to get accurate results with all the components that it came with, so we can all see numbers from changes made. I have the track pretty tight, and still ratcheting, so that's why we are going to change to the srx skid, and lower it more, so there is more rubber wrapped around the drivers. Talk to you all later.

Terry, sounds like your making progress. That SRX skid is really going to help you. SRXBandit ran a SRX skid in his RX-1 along with a speed track on the Ice this year and was super fast. I need to get my #*$&@ down there with my clutches. Its kind of hard to break away on Fri nights as my wife works then. If you have HH's laying around I can get you the info you need. By the way, I just got your email about needing a 22 gear, and I see youve already taken care of it. Been busy busy busy at work. Give me a shout if you want to shoot the #*$&@. 715-340-0554. Good luck...BBY

Hey BBY - I hear ya about being busy, me too. I thought I would see the guy from Stevens Point, that races the Arctic Cat this last weekend, but he wasn't there. Then I could have him bring them down, and I could make a run or 2. pro116 also has the HH's, and we talked about the setup Saturday. I will give you a call this week, we can talk then. Have a good one!

Why does the rx-1 do better on asphalt then on snow. I would think it would be faster with the snow lubrication.
